There are lot of bad reviews on this item about the hinges, and they still may be correct, but as of the 2 days we've owned this, everything seems ok. I reserve the right to update later if they do fail. what I can say is we are being extra gentle with the opening/closing of the ottoman. The hinges are kind of rough when the do move so I wouldn't be surprised if they failed soon. With that said, here's my pros and cons list:Pros:* Color is true the product photo. We got the stone gray "fake leather"..it is beautiful as my wife said* Easy assembly. 8 bolts with lock washer and washer. Hex bit for tightening after hand tightening.* Lots of storage space. Currently we have 2 blanks and 8 boardgames inside* Firm top (though we'll see if it says that way - cons below)Cons:* Taller than expected (top is higher than our couch. measurements were close when we measured before ordering but now that it's in the living space, it's apparent, that it's taller by just a bit) something to consider* Firm top, but kind of crunchy..but only once, so breaking in the padding may yield a softer top over time. We'll need to keep an eye on this.* Hinges are firm and rough to open.* Top doors came a bit out of alignment, but nothing too noticeable and easily pushed into better alignmentAll in all, for the price; it was a great deal. We're still concerned about the hinges, so we'll see how long it will last. But for now, it looks and functions great.On a side not, Amazon's customer service was awesome as well, when the first shipment disappeared and was reported as delivered at a different address than ours. This ottoman has been the perfect match for my living room. What really sold me on this particular ottoman was the size/shape and the way way it opened to access the storage. I was really in the market for a square shaped ottoman, and If you look at a lot of other ottomans online, you will notice that they are smaller than you might think (28" by 28"). I appreciated that this particular one is 36" by 36" so it is a good size. Also, it opens up as a set of double doors would - other ottomans I looked at either had the 4 separate compartments that you could flip over as a serving tray (which didn't really appeal to me) or had one huge hinge on one side and the entire top lifted open. The top gives a little if you sit on it, but is still sturdy enough that I don't worry if I set a drink down on it. Some of the other ottomans I was considering had reviews about the material splitting/scuffing up/flaking off, but the reviews on this were great and so far the material is holding up just fine. I was a little disappointed that this was not available in black, but it is such a dark brown that it isn't an issue for me. The last thing that I wanted to comment on was the great customer service. When I received the ottoman initially, it had been damaged severely in shipment. A couple of holes had been punched through the box and into the ottoman. I didn't even bother opening it and filled out a replacement request. They immediately sent another, no questions asked.

We Love this coffee table ottoman! It is Perfect in every way. It is the perfect size, the perfect color and the perfect style.I do not know why it's called Tanners Brown when it is really closer to Espresso color. It is a dark rich beautiful brown color.Ours arrived within 3 days and it arrived UN-Damaged, but the small warning I have is the manufactures packaging could use some padding.There is no padding inside the box, the ottoman is only wrapped in a cloth and that is it, so I can see how there could be damage in shipping. Only the box its in provides any protection. So if the manufacture could add some Styrofoam around it would be great. Other than that the Ottoman itself is Amazing! Its very sturdy. The top is nice and flat so its great for setting things on it like a glass drink. And the price was incredible! If I could give 10 Stars for this I Would!

I was nervous about this item based on some of the reviews but it was the largest ottoman with these details I could find in such a good price range. The box was delivered a little beat up, but the ottoman was unharmed in perfect condition. It took about 5 minutes for my boyfriend to put the legs on and it looks great in our living room. It's flat on top but if we set down a drink it's a little wobbly so I would recommend a tray on top if that's what you're using the item for. The storage inside is great size and I will be taking full advantage of hiding board games. It is very comfy to stretch your feet and legs on. Very pleased with this great find and cheap price!
