100% Natural Indigo Powder for Hair (227g / (1/2 lb) / 8 ounces) Indigofera tinctoria to color your hair brown to black

Dark and works great! I received a fresh batch -- the powder is finely milled, the dye release is fast and using it on my greying black hair with henna in a 2-step method gave a deep soft black. Just plain henna alone gives me a very bright orange on my grays that isn't flattering, so I prefer to overdye with indigo for a more natural look. I used very warm water and added sea salt to the mixture. A little went a long way. Be sure to wear gloves when dyeing and rinsing out, it will stain your hands and nails -- and your sink if you don't clean up promptly. The price is great too, comparable to the powdered indigo I would buy in Asia.

I love this product. This is 100% natural and I don't have any side effects while using it. I first apply henna on my hair and later after washing it, I use Indigo powder. I love how it turns my hair black naturally. The color stays on for 3 weeks and then the roots start to look gray. I'm not even in my 30's and I have a lot of gray hair. I don't want to go for dyes and all, since it causes a lot of hair damage. I want to mention a few points about this powder: 1. It does smell a bit. Not sure if it is the smell of the powder or if it is supposed to smell like that. Might annoy some people. But, the smell goes away with washing. 2. I'd be very mindful if having color on my hand annoys me a bit. This will leave some color on your hand especially the nail bed if you apply with bare hands. 3. Similarly, I'd also use a cloth or something on my pillow after I wash it off. I don't immediately use shampoo, I use it the next day, therefore I have some leakage on my pillowcase. Similarly, when you wash for the first time after a few days of applying, your shower might turn black (Don't worry, goes away with water). But, again not sure if this is a product thing or a brand thing. I have tried another brand from a nearby Indian store, and that doesn't leak, it doesn't smell this strong either. Overall, if I keep aside the smell I'd buy this product again. This brand has my trust. It is 100% organic. Additionally, I have medium-length hair, and one packet lasts three times. That is like $3 or so, for coloring your hair naturally at home without any side effects. Lastly, for the people with colored hair or with highlights. Be careful, guys. I made the mistake of applying the powder on my entire hair ( scalp as well as the length). The highlights also turned black (Lol!). Eventually, the color comes back after 2-3 washes, but something to avoid if you don't like your highlights colored black.

I've been purchasing this henna for years. It's clean, no chemicals, and has a beautiful color. I would absolutely recommend it.

Im giving it 1 for now because it never released color and has no smell. I’m not sure this is henna at all! I’m going to leave it on for about three hours and will see if it makes any difference to my hair. I’m a regular henna and indigo user so I know how henna smells and looks when it releases the color. It’s been so hard finding an honest vendor. It’s always mixed with something or it’s not henna at all! So disappointing! Update: I kept it in all night and as you can see it did not work at all. It’s so SO disappointing I keep having to return every henna I buy. Going back to Henna sooq! If it was possible to give a negative that’s what I would give it!

This is a great product to use for dyeing grey hairs that can be a bit tough to color. It gives my hair a dark brownish-black color that is very close to my natural hair color. How to use for dark brown-black color: I usually dye my greys with henna the first day, which gives them an orangish tinge. Next day I soak this indigo powder for 12 mins in warm water and then apply it over the henna dyed areas using a hair-color brush. Wrap the hair in plastic wrap and keep it for about 2-3 hours. Then I wash it off with just plain water, no shampoo. The blueish green tinge from indigo neutralizes the reddish orange hues of henna to give a black-brown hair color. Tips: When using first time, do an allergy test before you apply to whole hair. The first time I got it, I soaked a spoonful of indigo and applied a small amount behind my ear lobe and kept it overnight and washed it off. If you don't see any redness or itching or other allergic reaction, then proceed to use over entire hair. Also, do not using metal containers to mix. Do not to soak it for more than 10-12mins. The indigo color tends to transfer a little on the hand, the first couple days, after that it sets better on the hair. Avoid using shampoo right after application to preserve hair color better.

It didn't stain well on my henna fresh applied hair. I don't know if it was user error or not but I went back to Bigen.

Good for my hair! Especially gray hair

This is possibly the best neutral henna I've ever used. For those complaining and giving bad reviews for it not colouring the hair, well, it's not supposed to! Neutral henna isn't always easy to find and I use it every 3 months or so to keep my naturally blonde hair in great condition. This not only softens like silk but adds that depth of deep, glossy shine that one finds in red henna products; obviously without the risk of turning blonde hair bright orange! To use, I mix with a squirt of fresh lemon juice, a couple of teaspoons of olive or argan oil, warm water and a few drops of rosemary and ylang ylang oils, both of which are beneficial to the hair and scalp. Mix to the consistency of double cream. I let sit for 20 mins while I wash my hair to remove styling products (no need to use conditioner) then apply when my hair is damp to almost dry. It can be messy so I do this over a bowl to catch & reuse any stray blobs. I then coil my hair on top of my head and wrap with cling film to stop drips and retain a gentle heat . I generally leave on for up to 3 hours so the henna does its job. This brand I found to be a lovely, fine powder and not at all gritty as some I've used. It mixes so well and also goes on well and washes out easily. It helps to have a power shower to stand under while you rinse, then shampoo and condition as normal. As you can see, my hair is super shiny and flaxen without any red, which normal henna would give. My hair looks lustrous and feels slippery - soft, like silk! I give this brand a big thumbs up and would definitely use their products again 👍❤️
