Good quality in ear earphones; however disappointed at lack of remote features , no volume adjustment; have to manually adjust volume on phone.

These are the ones to get. They aren't too expensive, but they sound great. These have a frequency range of 5Hz-24,000Hz. Other products make claims like " high-quality audio with a 20-20KHz range". Theoretically, that's the range of human hearing, but my ears can hear the difference. Here's why... The advertised range (e.g., 5 Hz - 40 kHz) indicates the frequencies the headphones can technically produce, but it doesn’t mean they reproduce them equally well. A "flat" response—consistent volume across all frequencies—is ideal for accuracy, but most headphones have peaks and dips. Reality: At the extremes (like 20 Hz or 20 kHz), the output might roll off—meaning the sound gets quieter or less accurate—rather than being as robust as in the mid-range (e.g., 1 kHz). For example, a headphone claiming 5 Hz might only produce a faint rumble at that level, not a clear tone. Also, I have an identical-looking pair of Sony ear buds that were slightly cheaper and they sound like crap by comparison, so you can't tell by looking at them. Finally, do not believe anyone that says that the range of these headphones can somehow damage your ears. There’s no specific frequency above or below which sound inherently damages ears—whether it’s infrasound (below 20 Hz) or ultrasound (above 20 kHz)—unless it’s delivered at a high enough sound pressure level (SPL), measured in decibels (dB). In other words, you're setting the volume is to loud. So, I have bought these numerous times. I keep coming back to them even though I also have expensive Apple Airpods, because they are relatively inexpensive, comfortable, sound great and don't need to be charged. The only negative is they aren't the best for talking on the phone or using for my work meetings. For meetings with Microsoft Teams I use another pair of headphones with a microphone that's designed to be closer to the mouth for phone calls. But in a pinch they will work for phone calls and meetings. Just don't expect them to have the best quality with the microphone.

Not only is the volume output significantly lower compared to other Sony earphones in a similar price range, it emits a very high frequency that is damaging to the ears. I exchanged my first order for the exact same product, and found the replacement piece to have the exact same issues. So I know that it wasn't just a one-off defective piece, the product itself is bad. Please DO NOT BUY if you wish to PROTECT YOUR EARS

Really good sound quality, microphone and decent noise cancellation as well.
