Pocket Rough Guide Istanbul (Travel Guide with Free eBook)

I never bought a guide from Rough Guides before. I'm very happy i did.In spite of being very small and a resume because it's a pocket guide it has all the essential information.Furthermore is has a very good balance between text, history, maps, drawings and photos.Recommended!

Found the guide useful and informative, but completely out of date on prices, and understandably centred on Sultanahmet. Information on ferries limited as I guess this changes a lot, but they and the trams such good value. New team routes being built as I write. Every ferry journey is special. Not sure I picked up on this from the book, but Topkapi Palace closed Tuesdays, and Blue Mosque internally hedging a lot of renovation so little to see. Found had restaurant guide ok, but, for example, there are numerous rooftop bars and restaurants, of varying quality, but....

I originally bought this Pocket Guide to Istanbul for a trip to Istanbul earlier this December but Covid cancelled our trip. I learned so much about that intriguing city that I will carry with me when I DO get to travel to Istanbul! This guide is the PERFECT size to literally carry with you as you explore what appears to be a very fascinating city that is a blend of Europe and Asia. Cannot wait to go when I am able to do so!
