Good Quality
Love this rice cooker, perfect of family of two to four. Good value and it works great, been using for a month.

Hope they do not try to add new features.
It makes great rice. It is easy to use. Large or small batches come out good. It will keep warm for a reasonable time with no or very minor scorching. Always a rating champion because they make small refinements without adding a dozen new cooking tasks. It will not knead bread dough, it makes great rice.

Works great
I use this weekly. Works great. For Jasmine rice the quick cook seems to work better than the white rice setting. I haven’t tried any other type of rice yet,

Cooks rice perfectly every time, easy to clean once you find out the inner lid pops off
It's easy to use, cooks the rice perfectly. Clean up is easy once you find out that the inner lid pops off.

So far so good
This Hamilton Beach rice/cereal cooker seems exactly like the one I had to throw out ... but seems to have a couple more features. The old one still worked, but I ruined the outside of the cooking basket by putting it in the dishwasher, a mistake I hopefully will not repeat with this one. I purchased 6/2017-ish and have made a batch of rice so far, but haven't tried the cereal. What is unusual are the directions, which contradict the directions and the ratio or rice to water that's found on my bag of rice. The cooker's directions say to rinse the rice, which I guess I've read other places but never did. Long story short, I used the cooker's directions (more like 3/4 c of rice rather than 1 cup to 2 cups water). They don't actually give a specific oz measure for water -- just fill to the line in the pot. Their example is if you put 3 cups of rice in the pot, fill with water to the "3 line." Sounds more complicated than it is. Just whatever way you want will work I'm sure.I rinsed the rice (unit with the small hole insert basket) and used the amount of water suggested and have to say the rice turned out exceptionally well, better than any in the past. I'm not sure if it was rinsing the rice that did it or what variable changed. The rice was still somewhat sticky, which is how I prefer it. The unit cleaned up great and the removable soft plastic ring on the inside of the cover was easily removed to clean and easy to put back in place as well.

Missing condensation cup.
Missing the condensation cup. Started with cooking old fashioned oats—one cup uncooked. Conflicting info in the manual regarding cook time. I chose 5 min and cooker kept extending the time. Oats ended up gummy and overcooked. When I lifted the lid, oat goo poured onto cabinet since no condensation cup.Called the Hamilton Beach number about the missing cup. A prerecorded message directed me to an email system. That site stated it may take over two weeks to get a response due to how busy they have been. Will update my review to report response time as well as cooking performance with rice.

Brown rice success
I’ve never been able to make brown rice to my satisfaction until now. This inexpensive rice cooker did the job. Do follow the directions and be sure to rinse the brown rice thoroughly before cooking to get all the chaf out. It also made really good white rice and oatmeal. On the oatmeal I used the delay feature and had perfect oatmeal waiting for breakfast. I used milk in place of water for the oatmeal and it turned out perfect.
