Does this shampoo cause a waxy buildup requiring apple cider vinegar rinses?

It may depend on the bar you get and how your hair responds. I am doing the sample pack and the first one I tried I had build up and needed to use apple cider vinegar. I am now using the St Clements and have not had any build up!

Is this bar soap for people that have basically no hair of that keep their hair shaved

I have really thick medium length hair (past my shoulders) and I love this and the shampoo bar. When applied directly to wet hair, it really works. It's a little weird to get used to the feeling of rubbing a bar of soap on your head, but I got used to it very quickly.

Is the sweet&spicy a stong smell? I detest ginger, but this seems better than the pink for my flat oily hair.

You won't notice a ginger smell at all. There's a very slight spicy smell as you use it, but the scent doesn't linger. I have an oily scalp and this is bar has worked the best for giving me light and fluffy hair. My advice is to lather the bar in your hands and apply the suds to your scalp with your fingertips rather than rubbing the bar directly on your head. I got MUCH better results that way.
