Runs Narrow but Good Looking Shoe
I purchased these Clarks Indigo Ankle Boots in the brown color, and they aren't as dark in person as they show on the website (more fawn than mid-brown). I kept them anyway because they'll be a good Fall boot. The issue with Clarks is that some pairs run narrow and other run wide -- so you really have to read the reviews or know the pair you are purchasing. This particular pair of Clarks runs narrow -- especially in the toe box (just to clarify the "somewhat small fit" really should be narrow because the length is fine). I have narrow feet (AA or AAA) so this is a perfect fit for me (ordered and 8/12 and it fit fine). There is lots of padding in the shoe; and the heel height is easy to wear all day. I like these shoes and would recommend them, but if you have a typical B size foot I'd order up a size. If you have a C or D size foot, then I'd pass on this pair and find another pair of Clarks (they actually have some in those wider sizes on Amazon).

Amazing, order 1/2 size larger.
I have a wide foot, more than one person has said my feet look like flinstone feet. I was worried about how small/tight these would be. Some people said order a full side up, some people said order a half size up.I ended up going with a half size up. The shoe fits perfect and is comfortable. My toe is about a half inch away from the end of the shoe. They aren't too tight. I haven't actually worn them out, but I've worn them around the house and there was no squeezing or tightness. Those who suggest to order a FULL size up are confused by the size they actually wear... If you know your actual foot size, I'd advise you to go no more than half a size up.I have read a few reviews that say the shoe fits true to size, or they ordered larger and were disappointed because they were too big. I could see this happening. Since my foot is wide I fit a half size larger perfectly. But if you have a petite/narrow foot, your real size might actually work, like I said I had room to spare in the toe area.EDIT: I have worn these out several times, very comfortable shoes, I love them.

Not my favorite pair of Clarks.
I bought these thinking that they would fit similar to the Clarks Piano Bridge Slingback Sandal, unfortunately they're not the same fit at all. These shoes fit a bit snug when I first put them on, I was not able to wear a thin pair of socks with them. I've bought about a dozen pair of Clarks in my life and I've always been conssitantly a size 9. These shoes still fit a bit tight, but I think the 9.5 would be too big. Many blisters and bandaids later I think I've got them broken in, and they fit okay now. The back area by the heel has a nice padded cushion area, however the leather lip above this padded cushion still cuts the back of my heels every time I wear them.I thought the thicker sole under the ball of my foot would help cushion for walking and standing. I don't know what is so different about these vs the Piano Bridge Slingback, but the balls of my feet are killing me about an hour after wearing these.I still gave a 3 star review because I still think these shoes are adorable and probably the best looking Clarks I've ever owned.

Mostly, love the shoe
Don’t know why, but right shoe hurts, left shoe fits perfect. Just wish sole/heel was wood rather than rubber. Makes shoe look cheap with rubber sole, in my opinion

Weird sizing! Comfy sole.
I usually wear a 7.5 or 8. I ordered the 8 as other reviews said they were on the small side, and I've never had to buy a shoe larger than a size 8. I had to return them for the 8.5 and even these were still snug. Not at the toe, but on top of the foot, which is really odd, especially since I have flat feet. I've never had this happen with Clarks - I can only guess they switched elves who have cobbled them to a smaller, more elf-like foot.Rather than again return the larger size, as I knew the 9s would be too big, I wore them with thick socks to stretch them. This has helped, and they are getting more comfortable with each wear (note that front-to-back are fine, it's that pressure on top of the foot that is odd). The Clarks sole is just perfect and they feel cushy.I'm guessing if you have normal or high arches, these boots might not be very comfortable - try them on in a store, then order off Amazon to get the great price.

Cute Boot - Bad Sizing or Something...
I ordered these boots thinking they'd be great to wear on an upcoming trip to Europe (on those days I wanted heels), but unfortunately they are too small & I had to return them. I wear 9.5 to 10, with 10 usually giving me plenty of room in a boot. I had read other reviews and knew the sizing was off, so I went for a 10 thinking they were leather & would stretch, etc. Well... they are pretty bad size wise. To be more specific, the length of the shoe itself is not wrong; however, the padding they use for the insole is SO thick that I could barely fit my foot into the shoe. Once it did go on, my foot was pressed into the top of the shoe to the point of extreme pain. In addition, I had ordered grey, but they ended up looking brown when I received them. I'm not sure if that was an error, but it didn't matter since they were too painful to wear. I've returned them & haven't tried to have them replaced.

Immediate Compliments!
Ah, Clarks. Sigh. These are so awesome and fashionable. Love the cool straps! The grey/brown hue makes them incredibly versatile (they can easily swing from rugged to modern with your outfit and look great with jeans). I received compliments from strangers the very first time I wore them. I do have fairly wide feet and find that they are a tad snug along the top of the foot, but not uncomfortably so, and they are breaking in over time. I'll warn you that these will absolutely scuff and it can't be helped. Consider it part of their rugged charm-but if that will bother you, skip these. I'm extremely happy with this shoe over all. If you're on the fence, do it!!!
