A Great Product
The tried and true lock brand. I only used Master Locks because of their durable and how secure their locks are. They hold up well in every environment. Their locks definitely give you piece of mind. I would do recommend this product!!!

the perfect solution for some special applications
this lock is singular in design. unlike other padlocks, the Master 510D is of two-piece design; the shackle is removable.i work maintenance in a CA mall. theft of toilet paper from the public restrooms was a serious problem. not any more. i installed one of these locks on each and every toilet paper dispenser and voila! no more tp theft. the design of the tp dispensers precluded the fastening by conventional one-piece padlock.a word of caution: the Master 510D is NOT idiot-proof! the shackle CAN be installed through the bottom of the lock-proper (base) rather than through the top, making the fastened lock a device which CANNOT THEN BE REOPENED BY KEY! color the bottom (key side) of the lock-proper with, say, a red felt pen. if one doesn't see "red" when fastening... BACK OFF and up-end the lock-proper.as an aside--and as a courtesy to any other custodian who might be interested--toothpaste works wonders to remove felt pen "magic marker" graffiti (on inner surfaces).you are welcome.

Put the lock on the shackle rthe right way up!
Durable strong lock, with smooth key locking mechanism. As the shackle is completely removable, it is absolutely essential to remember to put the lock back on the shackle with the keyhole facing down. If you don't you may not be able to open and remove the lock from the shackle. You will then have to cut the shackle and replace the lock with a new one.

Cheap deterrent
It works, within reason; prevents casual/opportunistic thieves. Better than a crappy "gym locker" dial lock.The adjustable shackle is nice.
