MakeCode website works great on Chromebooks as has been mentioned. You can also program in CircuitPython very easily. I've had success using the Caret editor on Chromebook for editing circuit python programs. **Q: How bright is it?** A: The neopixels have a variable brightness and color so brightness depends of the color selected and brightness you set. The brightest is white at the highest setting. They are quite bright. Most demo programs set the brightness at 30% so it isn’t objectionable. **Q: Just receive this and downloaded ide for windows, but which “board” is this called? trying to find the right instructions from the arduino site. ty** A: circuit py. Use ADAFRUIT's website the have great guides! **Q: How many leds can this control?** A: Directly from the board pinouts, it could control 8 old-fashioned LEDs directly. Typically people would get a string of "smart" LEDs (such as NEOPixels). It would be possible to control 100's of them (but you might need a separate power source).
