Are the fruit pieces real?

Yes they are. I bought this set multiple times and it’s probably the best set of dried fruit slices on Amazon.

Would it be harmful to put these on a cake just for decoration?

I don't know that I can daddy "harmful" but, I wouldn't. (Anne, I'm also a party time cake decorator, as well). I didn't buy these for that purpose, but, from having held them and knowing what they look like, I wouldn't use them.

Is this safe to use for soap making?

Although I didn’t use them in soap I think they would work out fine. They are real flowers that have been dried. Some of the greenery is fragile so I would be careful with the handling.

I am planning on putting these in a double sided pressed glass photo frame. What can I use to secure them to the frame and how?

I have used an old frame in which to add a design of both pressed and dried flowers. You can secure the back of the frame with a flat piece of wood and screw it to the frame once you have your flowers in place. In the alternative, and if you are pressing flat dried flowers between glass without a frame, I would suggest a double sided adhesive to secure the two pieces of glass together
