Nice tool, get the job done every time!
UPDATE: one year after, my impact is still running strong, im putting heavy use on it every day. It experiences some nasty high drops, swim in antifrezee and oil. Not even a crack casing. Only thing i can criticize wich i knew was coming from my other Dewalt tools, the little rubber bumper on the side are coming off. Still one of my favorite tool!Ps: Snap on guy unload hates on my impact when he see me using the Dewalt instead of the 400$ one he sold me. That tells everything when your top off the line tool guy is jealous... ;)I am a fan of Dewalt 20v line up! I use this tool as a car mechanic and welder, i got to say this is one of my favorite. Right out the box i did not expect that it would have so much power for a small impact. So i took a 5 ah battery and tryed it ont a car’s wheel lug nut and it took them all off no problems! I use it every day, it is silent and lightweight. The trigger has a nice graduation to it, so you can be soft on small fastener. Battery life is surprisingly long also. 5/5 i love it, if you need a 3/8 cordless impact don’t hesitate.

How did I manage before this thing?
When I was younger, I used professional air tools & wrenches, and they worked well with enough space, but were bulky and required annoying hoses & compressors.I've been working on cars for 40 years now as a hobby and finally decided to try out a cordless impact wrench since I already had DeWalt cordless drills and grass edgers. The 20V 3/8 drive impact arrived quickly and I was shocked at how small the box containing it was, as well as how compact and light the tool was.I hooked up a small, 2.0mAh battery to it and it blew me away. Lug nuts on the car were removed with no problem, the rear differential and axles I worked on were taken off in less than 5 minutes. This was normally a 30-minute affair with conventional hand tools. The tool's compact frame and super light (but powerful) build actually made the work enjoyable, with plenty of room to fit in most spaces that my hand tools did before.I can't believe I waited this long to get this cordless tool...faster, easier, and fairly inexpensive considering how much quality tools cost.I highly recommend this impact wrench and don't know how I managed before I got it!

As a professional automotive technician, 5 stars.
Held off on buying the brushed version (883) of this tool and was glad I waited for this one. I did not need the larger 1/2" high torque model (such as the DCF 889/899 series) for my specific needs. Light weight and high power were the more important criteria... something you could use for long periods in tight spots and not tire-out your hand/arm but it had to have enough power to do the job. The anvil & hog-ring being brand new are tight, so some may say it's bit of a struggle to get a socket off. But loose fitting sockets can cause reduction in effecting impact torque, so I tested this weapon out on 2-3 year old truck lug nuts torqued to 150 lbs-ft with a 21 mm socket in good condition. I certainly had no real l problem getting them off after a few brief hammering blows before they spun off. So for most cars with typical 100 lbs-ft wheel torque or conventional exhaust & suspension fasteners, this tool should prove adequate in daily professional use without the need to acquire its 1/2" big brother or a conventional air impact gun. The LED light feature can prove useful when you need it. The compact size is pretty good, but if you need even smaller for tight spaces, then get the 12V version that is even more compact. Control with the trigger was pretty good, but I would be cautious in using it on putting back critical engine fasteners because of the power... it would probably snap-off or strip-out at typical M8 of M10 engine bolt/nut if your were not careful. As a professional automotive technician, 5 stars for its intended application. But be realistic, larger or high torque fasteners and even corroded threads may prove challenging for this tool. You cannot otherwise beat the power of this tool for its intended use with compact size and superior grip/feel complementing the overall package. Bonus was the $25.00 off Dewalt/Amazon rebate I waited for... price could not be beat anywhere. It was well worth the wait for it...
