If you want to protect your bones, this is the thing! My mom did all the research and she is freaky good and thorough on these things. Apparently osteoporosis is partly caused by the disappearance, from modern farming techniques, of this vitamin. No way to get it except from supplements. I believe her. There is a whole book on this subject. But you don't have to read it. Just take the supplement, ha!
