Worth it for comfort
Gel pads were totally worth the money. Much more comfortable than the original grips.

No Velcro, WAY too small
I am on one week of crutches and the palms of my hands are DEAD. I tried a normal padded one and it didn’t do much. I was excited about the gel…..it took me *not exaggerating* an hour to put on each of these. If you take off the ones they come with then these are so big and don’t really help. Or if you’re like me I put it on top and it took FOREVER to put on. The only reason this isn’t getting one star is that the gel is actually great and now that it’s on it’s more comfortable. I have no idea why they didn’t just make this Velcro for you to put on, could have saved a ton of trouble.

Weird fit...
I had to rate these lower than I wanted to. I'm still not sure if they are designed to replace the crappy hard rubber handles that are standard on crutches or if they're meant to go over them. I think they're meant to replace, but when I put them over the hard plastic core that was under the hard rubber handles, it was not comfortable. The fit was not good and you could actually feel the hard plastic as if there was LESS of a cushion between your hand and it. I then stretched these things over the original hard rubber grips. You want to see an exercise in frustration?!?! It took me hours to do each one and I had to split them up into different days because it hurt my hands so badly. I don't think they were meant to go over that original rubber grip, but it was definitely not a good replacement for it. Once I DID get them over the grips, they did increase padding. I'm not sure that they made all that much of a difference though. I would not purchase again, and I wouldn't wish an enemy to go through the process of trying to stretch them over the original grips.

perfect for forearm crutch handles
saved my hands from calluses and pain. I switched over from under arm crutches to forearm crutches and the forearm crutches handles were much harder than the underarm ones. I quickly got calluses, and the palms of my hands hurt so bad, I had the elasto-gel to save my underarms and swear by them so I ordered these to save my hands. So glad I did. They were a very snug fit (took some effort to get them on-but worth it). The pain dissipated almost immediately after I put them on. My hands stay cool and I don't have to worry about sweaty palms. The only thing is when putting them on make sure the tag (inside the pad) is towards the crutch side, otherwise it will hang out and need to be cut off.Have been on forearm crutches for 3 months at time of this recommendation.

Too short for my crutches
The gel pads are much softer than my previous hand pads. The callousness on the palm of my hands are completely gone now. I am happy about that. The pad definitively provides enough cushioning. However, the pad is a bit too short and sometimes I get my thumb caught between the pad and the crutch. I cut my thumb a couple of times and now have a callous on both sides of my thumb. Also, these pads are more difficult to wash than my original hand pads. It is a trade off and I can't really decide if I like the gel or the original better.

Gel Hand Pads
After being on crutches for one week, the palms of my hands were starting to get really sore so I purchased the Elasto-Gel Crutch Mate Gel Hand Pads. I removed the original hand pads from the crutches and replaced them with the gel hand pads. The grip is a little smaller than the original hand pad, but it works out great for me. The gel pad is much more comfortable than the original hand pads that were on the crutches. I will be on crutches for three months, so I was very glad I found these. They are also super easy to put on the crutches.

Everu crutch should come with these!
My wife has just had a second hip replacement, and has been on crutches since 2-3 months before the surgery. These gel pads are a lifesaver! Everyone who sees them -- including the doctors and nurses -- want to know where we got them. They are durable, cushion the grips well, and look like they'll last a very long time. We have the Southwest crutch tops, too.About the only thing that I can find fault with is that they sometimes spin around so that the un-cushioned part is facing up. But it only takes a second to move them back.

Disappointing
I was excited to order these gel hand pads. I've been on crutches for about a month and have at least a month more to go. My hands, wrist, and sides are bruised and chafed from my crutches I thought the gel pads would be a good solution while adding some comfort. Over all the product is well made, and looks nice. The disappointing part comes when it's time to put the product to use. The product replaces the standard hard rubber padding, but it isn't nearly as thick as it should be. You can feel the hard plastic core. I think it causes more pain than the original rubber. This product would be much better if it wrapped around the original piece to add a comfort to what's already there.
