I think it says that in the add to mean it works on any larger size cats. **Q: My long hair kitty DESPISES being brushed. Does anyone have any input on how she might respond to this brush?** A: This is much more a comb than brush so our cat likes the skin stimulation. It does a great job of lifting matted hair and saves us more than a few hair balls! **Q: it says the item weight is 2.24 Oz but the shipping weight is 11.2 Oz.. that's a big difference.!!! What are you putting in there a brick?? Scam??** A: Hi, I sell all kinds of Furminator tools and this item weighs 9ozs with the padded envelope. 2.24oz is way too small, and that's probably Amazon's error like many other errors they have. 11.2oz sounds much closer. Like I said, if you send it in padded envelope, the whole package weighs 9ozs but if you send it in a cardboard box, it can weigh over 11ozs as boxes are much heavier than envelopes, of course. By the way, there are no bricks that weigh 11.2ozs...take care. **Q: What is the width of the large & small sizes?** A: Only bought the large...the comb is 2 1/2 inches. Her fur was so thick it started to matt and dreadlock. She HATED any type of grooming. This one was tolerable for her and I swear we could have knitted a king size blanket with all the fur we released from her mane.
