Incredibly stable, responsive and fun - slow in forward flight
Once you fly this rc heli, it's easy to understand why it's a legend in the rc heli universe. It is incredibly stable and responsive and given it's coaxial construction, it's hard to upset it in flight (and crash). The inherent stability of the coaxial model does have the cost of the heli being slower than it's single blade 4 channel counterparts. It is actually had to compare the MCX to a fixed pitch single blade heli because they fly quite differently. I use the MCX as an indoor trainer of sorts, given it's accurate handling and stability (among four walls, plants and a dog who doesn't appreciate being smacked by an RC heli in motion - he told me!). I have a JXD drift king, a V911, a Xeida 9958 and this MCX. Out of all, I crash the MCX the least since it is very stable and responsive, and to some degree slower and safer to fly indoors. As one progresses from a 3 channel, there is no better model to have on your way to a single blade 4 or 6 channel. Quality of construction is by far the best of all my birds, which of course, has to do with the fact that it is more expensive than all the others (worth it). As far as negative considerations, forward flight is slow and while robust, I wouldn't smack this one into the wall too often. It comes with a single battery and a charger that is fed by batteries - I would wished for a wire to an A/C outlet, but the batteries have worked well, especially if you have multiple birds, all requiring their own charge outlet.

INCREDIBLE delicious water
IN Florida. We have the hardest/nasty tap water. While searching through reviews for a decent Water Filter Pitcher I ran across one reviewer who had no complaints about the TKN Pro 3.5L Pitcher, however it was (LUCKILY for me) recommended that these Mavea 1001122 Maxtra be used instead. I am SO thrilled I read that review. These filters took a good filtration system and made it OUTSTANDING !! For me this goes back to when I had water from a well and it was awesome. Now these my the tap water taste like that sparkling clear well water. These are now in my sub n save. Now due to there being one person drinking I may see how it goes as far as needing to replace every month. I am so glad I DID read that one review that got me here. If you're on the fence ... just go for it.

Can't live with out my MAVEA
Easy and simple to use. We LOVE MAVEA! Take the pitcher lid off, then you open the package run it in a little bit of water over the filter and drop it in the pitcher..., set the timer button and wahlah! That easy. Also not to mention you will have the best tasting water! We have been using Mavea for over 1 year and we have saved $$$ - no more buying bottled water. Let me also mention we use this water for our Keurig coffee machine. It makes the best ice tea, kool-aid and other sweet drinks.Pros: Great filtered water Easy to use timer See through pitcher Great taste for coffee, teas you will notice the difference from bottled water Save $$$ no more buying bottled waterCons: Lid can be a little tricky to remove when replacing filter A little bit on controversy on rinsing filter verses not rinsing

Good price
This is a good price for these. Some of these filters seem to last longer than others. I think maybe a lot of that just depends on when the water company treats the water. We have very hard water here. I rinse them off and out a bit and kind of shake them under the faucet to pre rinse them before putting them into the pitcher. It seems to cut down on the pitcher fills/empties before the water doesn't taste like the charcoal.Because of the hard water here we went through many coffee machines. These filters keep all the unwanted stuff out of our water, which makes a nice cup of coffee. We use the water for our ice machine too. Nice clean tasting ice without the sediment in the bottom of the glass. These are great little water filters that work very well!

Life of filter depends on the water it is filtering
Many people seemed to be concerned about the life expectancy of the filter. This filter really does respond to the water it is filtering. For the most part I am the sole user of my Mavea & having used it for awhile I've learned just about how much life each filter has, even by the .25% as shown on the display. Its just something you absorb. Anyway, I took my pitcher on an extended trip to the mountains & WOW! What a difference the water made. I did not need to use the spare, which I should have needed and still had mileage on my original filter to use once I was back in the city. Once back home the filter was quickly eaten up as per usual. On a second occasion I noticed that my filter was being eaten up. I was barely using it and the life was going, going, gone. I thought, like many perhaps it was the gauge until I realized that for the past several nights, thanks to my insomnia, that I was filling up my pitcher when the water plant must have been treating the water and was getting a particularly strong stream of chlorinated/chemically treated water. We've all had that, when you open the tap & smell the chlorine & most of us at one time or another have taken a sip of that water before our brains register the smell & bad taste. I am happy to say that once I paid attention & stopped filling the pitcher when the water appeared to be treated that my filter went back to the life expectancy that I am used to. These two incidents make me believe that the filter is doing its job and doing it well. I think treating the each unique water source is more valuable than an overall specified length of time or volume of water filtered. My suggestion is spend some time using your pitcher, get to know the average life expectancy of your filter & then IF it seems to be getting eaten up start questioning the efficacy of the gauge (might also want to see if something has changed in your water source as well).Just an FYI to all the people that are unaware of it... Mavea, as well as most brands of filters recommend that you do not filter more than 2 pitchers a day or within a certain amount of time between fill ups for maximum filtering. Also, the Mavea filter filters the water much faster than the different types of PUR filters that I have used (sorry, haven't had a Brita), but according to statistics given by both manufacturers Mavea filters out less things than the PUR triple action filter or whatever their strongest pitcher filter is. Hopefully Mavea will come up with an even better & stronger filter soon. That is the reason for only 4* otherwise Mavea rocks!Edit: I am not sure if this should go on the unit review or the filter review, so it will go on both. Since the initial purchase a few years ago I have had to replace the digital display. I contacted Mavea customer service, again they were prompt & courteous in their response. They kindly replaced the digital reader free of charge; however, since then I am questioning the accuracy & efficacy of the device. A few times the percentage had seemed to have went down even though no additional water had been filtered. Initially I thought that it may have just been on the cusp & changed, but then it did it again after just changing to a lower level & without additional water being filtered. Absolutely no reason for anything to change. Now I accidentally hit the reset button so it shows 100%, when in fact the filter was only at 25% by it's previous calculations prior to the accidental reset. I thought perhaps it would correct itself in time, but it has been a few weeks & the reader is behaving like I put in a new filter when it should not be. I previously defended the accuracy of the reader due to the vast difference I had when using various water sources, but now am left wondering if they have changed something in the reader. Perhaps there is a difference between the older readers & newer ones??? Overall I still like the Mavea system, especially the look of the pitcher, but since they have not added an upgraded filter that filters out more contaminants & now this new sketchy reader I may be looking for a different filtering system when the time comes or I am so moved.

Cleans water
This thing is so cool, it cleans my water and makes it clean and safe for drinking. It filters out a lot of stuff, even my dusty and dirty water jug. Now I don't need to clean my jug as often because I can rely on this thing to clean my water. And my water tastes great.
