Wow, this story is amazing on so many levels!
There are so many layers and teachings in this simple yet mind-bending story of a beautiful medicine woman who was very, very old, with her long silver hair streaming out behind her. The words, the purposeful repetition of important themes in such an interesting way, the way the story elicits feelings and explicitly talks about feelings, about souls, about life and death and change and transition ... it has changed my life. I think about the this story and it helps me in my life. For that I am so grateful.

An extraordinary ancient story
This ancient story has been told for generations by memorizers in the Pacific NW. For the first time, it's being shared in the written form with outsiders. Full of extraordinary teachings, it helps us see the word in a new way -- or actually, in an ancient way.Instead of being written in scholarly language, it has been transcribed as it was told, in a very readable and free-flowing style that suits the feeling of the story and its themes. It works on many levels, so though kids will love the unique story, adult readers will appreciate its subtleties, intelligence, and deeper insights. Highly recommended.

Beautiful....
Love this book!! Beautiful story, told with such magic and charm. Johnny Moses is indeed a master of his craft. What a treasure he is, and so is this book!Reminded me of Willhelm Reich, and his work on “body armor”. Very interesting!!!Our local Native stories are such vessels of wisdom. Always interesting to see how they tie in with other ways of thinking. It’s very humbling to be reminded of how much I’m not aware of in my daily life, how much detail I miss. The observation of the world, as included in these stories, is incredible. Many lessons here.
