Simple setup and works perfectly with Alexa!
I haven't fully integrated this Sengled bulb into my daily lighting setup yet, but I did give it a thorough test to see how it performs. The 'S1 Auto Pairing' feature is no joke—as soon as I powered it on, my Alexa device recognized it almost instantly. It’s truly a plug-and-play experience, which is great if you don't want to deal with complicated hubs or third-party apps. During my test, the connection was stable and the voice commands worked without any noticeable lag. The brightness is solid for a smart bulb, and it responded perfectly to dimming and switching on/off via the Echo. Even though it’s sitting as a backup for now, I’m confident it’ll do the job when I decide to swap out my current bulbs. If you're looking for a hassle-free smart light that plays nice with the Amazon ecosystem, this is a very reliable and affordable option.

Old fashioned customer service
I purchased this bulb almost 2 years ago. It was easy to set up. If you have Alexa, you just have to screw it in, turn it on and say Alexa find new devices; and that’s it. The bulb worked perfectly but then suddenly it lost the Bluetooth signal. I tried to reinstall it many times but the signal wouldn’t hold. I emailed Sengled customer service and advised them of my problem. I emailed them a snapshot of my purchase through Amazon. She asked a couple of questions to see if I tried reinstalling it. After that she requested the model number and my mailing address. She then confirmed she mailed out a replacement later that week. It’s rare to get this level of customer service nowadays. Excellent company!

AMAZING LIGHT!!!!
I’m so glad I finally ordered this, but I wish I had ordered it years ago!! I use it for night time so the room isn’t pitch black because a nightlight is way too bright. I used to have reptiles that used black lights at night so I’m used to the dim light at night. After no longer having reptiles, I kept the terrarium using the blacklight at night, but at 50 watts it not only wasted a huge amount of electricity, but it would get too hot. One night I smelled something smoky and the clamp light wire was malfunctioning. I replaced the clamp light then told myself I never want to use a regular bulb ever again I ordered a bunch of bulbs that only use 10 watts or less but they were way too bright. I wanted something purple that would mimic a black light, but not give off heat or use too much wattage. I literally tried 6 different bulbs, and then I bought the Sengled smart Bluetooth bulb which changes colors and is dimmable and immediately it worked the first try!! Connected effortlessly and I didn’t have to do anything all I had to say was Alexa bedroom light on/off and it works like a charm. No crazy tinkering around or wasting time like with Alexa bulbs that have to be compatible with devices or connected to Wi-Fi while it searches for the bulb and NEVER finds it. This bulb worked IMMEDIATELY after I put it in the light fixture. It was right there on my Amazon Echo too after tapping the Smart Home icon!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Fixed? Bulbs won't reset multiple times
I’ve had a good batch of bulbs. Upgraded to four stars since it took months and multiple returns to get results. The company may have fixed the issue with an update possibly. I’m not certain if trying bulbs in every room triggered an issue. Other people seem to have success in all rooms. I’ve used bulbs in three rooms without an issue consistently for months. I’m very happy with the results. Hoping if I add other rooms I’ll have success. This vintage house using contemporary gadgets is a lot of fun. Like, an echo in every room with bulbs that work make carrying things with two hands simple. In the bathroom a low night light is helpful. Switching to red at night a couple hours prior to sleep helps me relax and snooze quicker. Installing a new fixture and hoping the bulb being added will work 💯. During holidays the sale price is great or for free with an echo. For anyone considering giving these a try or replacing a burnt out bulb. /\ update Updates to replacements have been worked on for two months. Meaning off to UPS several times. The app has an issue with secondary bulbs even if I deleted the original. It shows a bunch of unresponsive bulbs I’d deleted after attempting to install a single bulb. This time around isn't as easy as the first time set up because a list of bulbs shows up on the list. This whole thing has been a bit of a time suck. I like the bulbs when they work. When they stop as they have again I'm stuck with whatever the previous setting was. Red, 50%, etc. I think it's time to retire the bulbs and move on. Super disappointed. I did try with returns on all bulbs (11) and having my doubts only installed a handful to see how they'd work. I've tried everything suggested and in the end, this makes me prefer not to use tech. Though they're great when they work. I've had it with the ‘unresponsive’ messages and time suck. /\ update All the bulbs stopped working. Again. Even though I had reset several they stopped again. 11 bulbs. They're less than a month old. Super disappointed. The remote control bulbs never have this issue. I prefer these when they work. But not the frustration that continues. I've used the brand site and this didn't help. The site has a different method than the Alexa option. But it didn't work at all. The Alexa reset works. But they disconnected again. The night routine is set and once a bulb is reset this way. I left them all on the following evening to see if they’d all turn down. Nope. Nothing. Before they all stopped and wouldn't reset I sent to exchange six using boxes I still had. Super sad this happened. No explanation I could find saying why. If the replacements don't work I'll return them and try to recoup purchases. Many of the single bulbs came with echo during the Christmas time sales. Because the four-pack was already exchanged Amazon required a full return. Still hopeful the returns will work. If not buying more remote from a different brand to add to what I've saved when attempting to replace with these /\ update Here we go again. Every bulb was fine. Then suddenly today. Not. I tried following reset directions. Got a few hooked backups. But the bulbs went down again. It seems to be the Alexa app. Since it said all. But a few worked. Then the reset knees stopped. Then every bulb in the house couldn't be operated on the Alexa app or in the room. I'll try again tomorrow. At this point, I'm beginning to miss my remote-controlled bulbs and manual. I've been trying these for a few months. Was convinced I should add them to the last four spots so from attic to basement and closets. It's been so fun because when I'm going room to room or have stuff in both hands or the dog I just have to ask. I have echo dots in all the music rooms. With a house from 1900, there are limits to tech options. I thought it was genius to leverage these that came with echo dots. If this bulb can not be consistent and causes frustration from random shutdowns and even with reset falls back into despair with dysfunction I will end my misery and revert to the remote control. They're fun, dependable, and are similar in that they change colors and disco out. Imma leaves this at five stars and down to one if this issue doesn't change when I'm following directions to reset or help get these working again. I did return five from a one and five-pack for not working but figured it was the crappy shipping. Light bulbs should NOT be mailed in a bag or lost in the box. Hope this helps you with your choices /\ update Despite a couple of defective bulbs, super easy return and swap. Meaning Amazon sends out the bulbs as soon as I initiated the return replace. Drop at ups and they scan the app pic and boom. Owning a house from 1900 means tech is not as simple as requiring. During the sales in December bough echo dots that came with bulbs for every floor, room. Plus a four pack to cover closets. Now, great sound system and bulbs that are 10 w and don’t always have to be full blast. At night I dig the red. Each room can have bulbs set dimmer or full beam. Amazon, thanks for the bulb inclusion with the echo and the super simple set up. Recommend when ordering click the option to have it linked to your Amazon account. The other option, with the Alexa app, click the plus sign in the upper corner, light, then this brand. Follow directions. Including if you want the bulb grouped with a room. You can always go back and set up a room group. Use the help option to ask for instructions. What’s so cool about the bulbs, in my opinion, is I can be carrying stuff and easily ask for Alexa to turn on the light in said room. No more need for free hand. Renovations to art, dog, deliveries, more. Hands free happy me 😁 If you have tech experience, and or can read directions, ask for help these bulbs can be for you. I read somewhere you need the app for the bulb company. Not in my experience. The Alexa app has every company known to a man listed. You just need to Alexa app and patience if you're new at all this. Cause it can be a bit overwhelming for newbie users. Once you get the hang of things it's easy peasy. Takes about a minute. Then about another 30 seconds to give the bulb the name, you’ll use when talking to Alexa or looking it up on the app. You can operate everything remotely as long as the internet works. When I'm traveling this is an awesome option for making people think I'm at the house. 5 star once things got rolling ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯 /\ update Not sure why but the bulb stopped working. I've had it for a couple of weeks. Bought it connected to echo dot. Suddenly it stopped. It acts like a regular bulb. Just not echo dot functional any longer ⭐️

Plug and play, dependable
Second time buying this bulb, it really is plug and play. The first one is still going strong after 4 years, I’m hoping this one is as dependable and the first one I bought.

Bugs if you have an older Echo.
I got one of these for a friend, and it was working great for a week, so I thought I'd pick up a few more. At my house, it set up easily at first, but then it stopped working. I traced part of the problem to the fact that it seems to be pairing with only a single one of my amazon echos -- my Echo Show 1st gen. Unfortunately, this Echo Show is flakey and goes down every now and again. When it goes down, this led light bulb stops working. Even though I have several other echos that are supposed to be able to talk to the light bulb, they won't. That's not all of the trouble though. When the Echo Show 1st gen comes back on, it doesn't seem to re-connect to the light bulb right away. Perhaps it would eventually, but it doesn't reconnect in a couple of minutes. Maybe it won't ever. This would seem to be a problem not just for flakey Echos, but also for power outages. Another issue is that the light bulb refuses to pair with any other Echo besides my Echo Show 1st gen -- even if I reset the light bulb. If the Echo Show 1st gen is unplugged, the light bulb can't be discovered by Alexa. After connecting the light bulb and then turning off my Echo Show 1st gen, Alexa also seems to temporarily forget the name of the light. It's still in my list of lights on the Alexa App, but I can no longer ask Alexa to turn it on or off by name. This seems to fix itself in a little while. And of course the light won't turn on or off from the app when I've turned off that one Echo Show 1st gen that it seems to rely on. So I initially decided that this light bulb should be avoided right now -- but further experimentation changed my mind. (Amazon support was useless. I had to figure this all out on my own.) Edit: I finally did manage to get a different echo to connect to the bulb via bluetooth. What seemed to do it is (1) unplug the echo you don't want it to be connected to. (2) reset the bulb by flicking it on and off five times, at which point it blinks three times to verify the reset. (3) unplugging the echo that you want it to connect to, and then plugging it back in to reset that echo. This seems to make it forget that some other echo was connected to the bulb. (4) asking that echo to "find my devices". (5) plugging the echo that the bulb was originally connected to back in. Additional Edit: after making sure the light bulb was paired via bluetooth to a newer Echo Show 5 instead of my old Echo Show 1st gen, the LED light now works well. If the power goes out to the Echo Show 5, the light bulb stops working while it's rebooting but then starts working again as soon as the Echo Show 5 is working again. So there won't be a problem with power outages like when it was paired with the Echo Show 1st gen. I believe the reason many people are having problems with these bulbs is that they have older Echo devices and the bulb doesn't work well if it becomes paired with an older Echo. So when you first set one of these bulbs up, I recommend you temporarily turn off all your oldest Echo devices so that when you discover the bulb it doesn't pair with one of them. This is the only way I know to have control over which Echo it pairs with. If you want to know which Echo it actually did pair with, try unplugging an Echo. If it's the one the bulb is paired with, the bulb will no longer be controllable from any Echo or the Alexa App, until you turn that Echo back on. Although turning the Echo back on may not restore operation. As I said, it does restore operation when paired with my Echo Show 5, but it does not restore operation when paired with my Echo Show 1st gen. I'm raising the review to 3 stars, since it appears now that it can be made to work reliably if you own a newer Echo device and turn older Echo devices off during pairing. I'd give it 5 stars if they actually had instructions and warnings guiding people through these perils. I appreciate that this light bulb doesn't come with a privacy policy. Many of the other bulbs do, since they can only be set up from an App with a EULA and privacy policy and connections to who-knows-where on the internet.

Easy Alexa Setup & Very Handy Features
I’m really pleased with this Sengled Smart Bulb. The price point is very good, and the product works exactly as described. Connecting it to Alexa was quick and effortless it truly works like a dream. I use mine on my bedside table for reading, and the dimmable settings are perfect. I love being able to set a timer so the light gently dims when it’s time for bed (helps me not lose track while reading!). I also have it programmed to turn on when I go to bed, so I don’t need to switch on my main bedroom light. Another bonus is using the timer when I’m away on holidays it adds a nice layer of security by making it look like someone’s home. I can control it easily from my phone or just by asking Alexa, which is super convenient. Overall, it’s definitely worth the money and makes a great addition to a smart home setup, whether it’s your first smart device or one of many.

Destroyed expensive lamps
I bought this as it ticket all the compatibly boxes of my new £250 lamp. It sparked and destroyed my lamp! Thankfully Wayfair refunded fully, as I blamed the lamp. Just to be sure, I had another bedroom lamp that had the same specs required, it broke that lamp! Which was part of a set and no longer selling. This cheap second rate bulbs had ended up costing me over £300!
