This piece is made from aluminum and comes to you raw metal and may have scratches but is easily removed by lightly sanding or scuffing with a scotch brite pad before painting. Sanding with a 220 grit or finer sand paper or using a scotch brite pad to scuff the surface of the metal will greatly enhance paint adhesion. Spray paint with primer is an easy coating for this type of sign. We do not recommend water-based paint on raw steel products as it can cause rust instead of preventing it. Always paint the back side first, so that the front will not be placed down after painting. Signs can be hung with commercial grade double-sided tape or you can use small finish nails. The metal can be drilled for mounting holes very easily with a drill.

Well Crafted Gift for the Cat Lover
I am so happy with the quality and workmanship of my metal cat-love sculpture. This is DIY only if you want to do anything to it. I love it just as it is, rustic and unpolished. My original intention was to paint it glossy black, but now after seeing it, I’ve decided to keep it indoors and maybe preserve the natural patina.
