I bought these to practice writing Japanese. It says fun for kids but I’m a grown adult and they still work well.

Love these! They are so pretty and have excellent examples to help with pronunciation. I just wish there was a plain side without the “cheats” for quizzing. They are great for learning but I need to go print out flash cards for assessing how much has been learned.

These are very useful for me as a Japanese beginner. They are like regular cards and they are actually good quality!

Great cards, clear, helpful mnuemonics. Very colorful and portable. Hiragana on one side, Katakana on other side. I learned it in a week and still use these cards to refresh my memory.

It depends on everyone's ability in learning and memorizing. However, I was able to learn all hiragana in a week, I haven't finished katakana though. I liked how they made pictures, but it was a little confusing and I wish it was a tad more sophisticated. Other than that I liked it very much!

I was debating between this deck and another, and I wish I had gotten the other.First, let me mention the size. Make sure you look in the description because the pictures are extremely misleading. I am not docking stars for that, just make sure you are aware this is the size of a deck of cards.Second, there are slang words and just plain wrong words. Don't purchase this if you are wanting to learn vocabulary unless you intend to double check each word to make sure you are learning the correct spelling and/or entirely the correct word.I haven't noticed any mispronounced symbols yet, however I have only had it for a day and looked at it very briefly. I am going to try to return if I can get a pick up to do so, if I can't I'll have to cut my losses. I'm so disappointed that these cost so much and they are so poor for learning.The only other positive I can give is that they feel decent quality. They definitely would have stood up to my 8 year old daughters use if they would have been useful for her to learn Japanese.

These cards are sturdy and will withstand daily use. A couple of things though. The cards are a little stiff and tend to stick together. Dont expect to shuffle them well. The mnemonics are very helpful in learning the kana but the problem is that each card has the hiragana on one side and the katakana on the other side. The problem with this is it is not good for practicing. When you pull a card, you should just have the character on one side and the answer (mnemonic) on the other side. With this, when you look at the card, the answer is right in front of you. You cant look at the symbol and test your memorization of the character.

I ordered this set because it said it had an audio app. However, there is a QR code that you scan, opens an audio file and it does not work.I will be returning this item. I wanted to practice hearing the sounds as well as how it is written.
