I have been looking for a new watch for some time (pun intended). Had a Timex that lasted 2 months before the crown came off and a Wenger that never recovered from a battery change. I liked both for different reasons. I have two Seiko chronographs from the mid 80's that are still good but the bands are too small now and my taste has shifted to a simpler style. I looked at a number of similar pieces but none moved me to purchase until now. I opened the box and it was an instant confirmation. Just the right size and height off the wrist. Simple, classy face, easy to read. If you know what a grayman is, you will understand. Others have panned the band, looks and feels ok to me so I am going to try it for a while. Hope the watch works out and is reliable. It makes a bit of noise if you hold it close and shake it. I am sure that there has to be enough looseness to keep it running under tempurature extremes, expansion/contraction. Rock music has dulled my "sensativity" to such things. My wrist is 2 1/2" across and 7 3/8" around. Purchasing and shipping were as expected.

I have purchased two of these watches. I really wanted an auto wind watch and I really liked this watch. It's easy to read, the lume is better than my current Swiss quartz watch, and it kept good time...Right up until it fell on a wood floor from waist level. After one knock it gains six minutes each hour. I took it to a watch repair shop to have it regulated. The watch needed more than $160 to repair it. Much less expensive to buy another one. But no more - two tries is all Seiko gets. I got six months of use from two watches - not worth the hassle.

If you can accept the dual language for the day (basically you will see the arabic writing of day around midnight for a moment until it goes back to the english writing), this is a great deal to get a nice automatic watch. The one I received deviates very little and has enough reserve to leave it unused for a day.
