Would this be ok to pain kitchen cupboards?

Painted cupboards with it, but you need to put wax on top to last longer. Oil based paints are more lasting, some people color their kitchen cupboards with car paint.

Would 250ml be enough to paint a front door?

Yes I would say so, I haven’t done my door as yet but my daughter has and she said it was plenty big enough.
