Very Important part Of Ice Maker
I bought a new icemaker and it was suggested that we should buy a filter for the water that goes into the icemaker. We did and am I glad we did. I thought our water was OK, not great but Ok by city and state standards. With the added filter the icemaker now makes great ice cubes plus it reduces the number of times I need to clean the ice maker.

Easy installation, good taste.
Ok, so my filter came with the same tiny hose thingy as the previous reviewer mentioned, however, it was really easy to remove it. You need to push on the collar thingy and once it is all the way pushed in, pull the tubing out. Really easy. Don't forget to flush the first 4 gallons.

If you're looking for tubes, connectors, and mounting bracket buy the kit (search "PureWater Inline Water Filter Kit"). Ran 4 gallons of water through it as part of the installation and the water tastes great. Happy to stop buying the $50 GE RPWFE filters that die every 4 weeks...

Great for areas with treated water
Ice taste fresh and you can not smell the chlorine in the ice bucket when the ice maker has made ice. It use to change to taste of all my drinks especially my bottled water. So if you live in a area with treated water and have an icemaker this is a good buy
