If you are not handy do not buy these.
These are terrible. If you are not handy do not buy these.I have a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 with 1 " handlebars. these should fit but they didn't, not without a lot of work. It fit clutch side fit fine but not the throttle side. On the clutch side, The metal tube does not extend all the way through the grip which allows for some movement in the rubber. I was disappointed with this but it has not proven to be a problem while riding. The throttle side was not long enough to make it to the throttle housing and still be able to screw the end cap on. So I had to grind down the handlebars on the throttle side. The grove for the throttle housing was too wide to fit inside the housing. So I had to make the opening in the throttle housing bigger. Finally installed, they looked pretty good. I took it for a test ride and there was another problem, the tube under the rubber grip would spin-independent from the piece attached to the cables about 3/4 turn of the handlebars. This made it very difficult to ride. My solution was to add a small set screw to make the two pieces function as one (which worked quite well). they are also much shorter than my previous set. I have large hands and when I grip these the outside of my palm rest on the end caps which is not really comfortable. The rubber grip is only 3 1/2 inches wide my palm is 4 1/4.I should have sent them back as soon as I saw that it would require me to shorten my handlebars but I didn't.

Amazon Search Stinks
The grips look and feel great but they do not fit XVS1100 which is what I searched for specifically. Amazon search is WEAK!!! as we all know. We get pushed items that are not relevant and if you add a filter from price low to high somehow thousands of results turns to a few hundred. We are being fed the Amazone bovine scatology. All I want you to do is understand that if they give mofdup search results they should get to eat it. I just wish I had not wasted a couple of hours of my life dealing with thier screw up. 15 bucks has turned into a couple hundred dollar loss of time and wages!!! I think if a company causes loss to another they should pay for the loss.

Required modification Honda Shadow
I bought this part knowing it might not fit because Amazon parts finder did not say it would fit my bike. When I got these grips I learned from all the other reviews and immediately took it apart and use blue Loctite and all the threaded surfaces. When I put it together the clam shell would not fit around the throttle tube. Since I really like the feel and looks of the grips I decided I wasn't done with them. The area that the clam shell holds onto on the stock throttle tube was 1.15 inches wide measured with a caliper. These were around 1.3. So, I did what anyone with powerful toys would do and I chucked it into a lathe turning it between centers, and reduced it to the right size. So, if you ride a Honda Shadow from the 1990s these are not going to fit unless you have access to a lathe and some free time to make them work.Me knowing they might not fit to begin with is why I still believe they deserve a decent review. But the fact that there is a design flaw as Harley clam shells will still work with the piece being 1.15 on the area the clamshell connects to, they are missing out on the ability for us Japanese cruiser guys to be able to use this nice product, and because of which I am deducting one star.

Would not fit my VTX
The part that fits into the switch housing was over 32mm and should be more like 28mm. No way does this fit a 2005 HONDA VTX 1300.

Good grips
Arrived on time and in good order, and is as pictured; seem to be of good quality, and installed on my '09 Dyna FXD with no problems; this was an impulse buy-had some money left on a gift card after buying some other parts, so I decided to replace the stock grips which were okay but lacked any style (didn't even read the reviews-shame on me) first time installing grips made of metal-was debating whether to use adhesive since they would be a nightmare to remove, but the left side had a thin coat of slightly tacky material on the bar, so I think that & the two set screws (with thread lock) should keep it secure; right side throttle tube is a little loose compared to stock, but that is only noticeable when you're not moving-installed with no problems, throttle rolls on & off smoothly without any binding or excess play; too soon to comment on comfort; reading the reviews (after the fact) it seems these fit well on Harley's, not so well on Japanese cruisers, so I highly recommend these grips if you own a Harley, expect to have to make some minor mods if you don't
