Progressive Covenantalism: Charting a Course between Dispensational and Covenantal Theologies

Slippery and defensive setup
This book attempts a redefinition of the unbiblical tenets of replacement theology with terms that sound more politically correct but end up leaving the Jewish people in the same place: axiomatically excluded. I recommend this book only for solid Bible scholars to theologically tear its supersessionist ideals to shreds. For instance, the old term 'replacement' is substituted for 'fulfillment' and other such sleight-of-hand movements. Christianity today has fully embraced the Jewish people as God's unique, covenant people in accordance with God's declarations, despite works of this nature. Read it, but with caution.

Charting a new Biblical course
Apart from many New Covenant Theology writers' books and articles, this book clearly puts forth a Biblical explanation of salvation history from Adam to Christ, and the fulfillment of OT prophecies in the New.

Helpful and Clarifying
Very helpful. An excellent array of writers who discuss their various topics well. At points it was tough sledding for a lay person who does not know Greek/Hebrew because of their use in some of the chapters. Overall, though, some great discussion needed in this area.

Excellent!
Excellent! This book brought clarity to a lot of things that just were not able to be addressed in Kingdom Through Covenant. I am thankful for how these men have labored to help us continue to grapple with how to "put our Bible together" from Genesis to Revelation.

easy to follow
This book is so well laid out, easy to follow, and insightful. If you read it with an open Bible and an open mind, you'll be greatly benefited, even if you disagree at points.

Thorough and helpful
The writers do a great job expounding on Scripture while being gracious to those they disagree with. An example of theological reflection leading to wholesome interaction.

Two Stars
Well written but ultimately falls far short of making their case.
