Heat or freeze or risk oat mite infestation
I’ve ordered this a few times and for the most part have been satisfied. My only complaint is that I had to begin freezing the bags for a couple days prior to use because I ended up with oat mites after using one of the bags which was a complete pain to get rid of. So I recommend freezing or heating the product before you attempt to use it

Product detail is wrong and misleading!!
This product description for cost per oz is grossly wrong. In case anyone confused what each definition of weight, volume, and density:Volume is a measure of the amount of space something takes up (cup, cublic, feet, etc)Weight is a measurement of an object's heaviness (gram, oz, lb, etc)Density is the substance's mass per unit of volume (can't use water IE fuild weight to use it as 5 quart water in place bran "volume weight" IE their different substance different unit of measurement)So I asked this question before writing this review. I like Josh Frogs products however this one is completely incorrect and misleading. The price is not $0.10 per oz, per answer to my question this is "fluid weight". Dry weight is measured in dry weight and a liquid is measured in fluid weight. Fluid weight will also be different example 1 cubic feet(volume) of water is roughly 64lbs where as 1 cublic feet(volume) of of liquid gold is roughly 1203 lb, someone please sell me 1 cubic feet of liquid gold for 64lb please.Volume is not a measurement of weight see above. Why? Well I ask how is 1.94lb breakdown to $0.10/oz. Answer by others was it cost for volume by fluid oz. They are using water as the substance weight, which is completely wrong because different material has different weight. Since they use water as their unit as "volume weight" We have a measurement of water in the air called humidity, water as a solid called ice, and water as a liquid. In reality, Water in air is very light and takes up of volume IE fog, steam, etc. Water freezes into ice expands and takes more volume and is less dense then water why ice float on water. So with their reality Water in gas form is much heavier solid water (water as gas takes up more volume), Solid water is heavier then liquid water (more volume = heavier), Liquid water should be the lightest. So when boiling water the bubble and stream should soak and lift the water out of the pot. Ice should float up and set above water vapor like on top of fog, and our ocean should be in the atmosphere. If your buying Josh Frog Wheat bran at $0.10/oz your paying for air.Ask yourself this. Which is heavier 16oz of granite rocks, 16 oz of feather, 16oz of water?16oz rock heaviest, 16oz water middle, and 16oz feather is the lightest right? After all rock sink in water, feather floats on water right Or is 16oz = 16oz = 16oz? 1.94lb = 31oz. $16 divided by 31oz = $0.516/ozIf you take the same Josh Frong Wheat Bran and Vaccuum seal (remove the air) would you get less wheat bran and the 1.94/lb get lights IE less volume. Or would the weight stay the same and volume goes down with the air removed. So your paying for Air if your buying per volume not by weight.Check out Josh Frog 40lb wheat bran listing. If you believe in this listing at 0.10/oz ie 16oz per lb is $1.60/ Why buy bulk for $2.25/lb

Mealworm bedding
I haven't opened the bedding yet since our Orioles haven't arrived from down south. This bedding is for live mealworms which they adore. But, I used this bedding all last summer with great success at keeping the mealworms well fed until I apologized and put them into the dishes for the Orioles to eat. The pic is of an Oriole chowing down on the worms.

Great Product for Mealworms
This is great product for breeding/keeping mealworms. Not only is it a bedding medium, it is also a food source. I use it along with carrots to breed and grow mealworms. I was never able to breed my own until I started buying this product so I highly recommend it.
