Great price.
You get a lot of beads for the money. I purchased these to make sensory bottles with my grandkids. The instructions said not to use broken beads, so we did have to sort several broken ones out and they did break easier than anticipated. You get many so there wasn’t an issue.

The best entertainment!!!!
Great! Try them!!!A few things to note if you’re not sure:•these grow about 10x in size or maybe more. I pretty much covered the base of a small styrofoam ice chest with beads, one layer thick, then filled it with water 1/3 of the way. After they grey, the ice chest was over half way filled with water beads!!!!•some reviews said the beads didn’t grow big enough. But you can see in my picture that they were the average water bead size. My theory is these reviewers might have not had them in enough water to begin with or allowed them enough time to soak. The beads are firm, but like any water bead they will break apart if you crush them lol.•they do take some time to soak and actually grow. I poured them in and the kids started playing with them after about 2 hours. So definitely make them before hand if you plan on having them ready for something.•you don’t need to fill an entire bucket with beads. You can also just sprinkle a spoonful into a water table or water bin and allow the beads to float freely in the water. This is a lot of fun for kids! And will make the packet last foreverrrrrrrr.•they are a pain to clean up if they spill, so keep that in mind when it comes to how many you soak! The 1/2 full ice chest I mentioned before was probably waaay too much when they dumped it in my kitchen 😢😢😢. But it was our first experiment and now I know I’ll do a spoonful of dry beads at a time or so.•they dry and re-absorb water! When I had the huge amount in the ice chest, I just kept them moist so they would be ready to go and pulled a few out for the water table that didn’t need time to soak.•Do watch them with putting them in their mouths, they are probably not good to eat!!Anyway, definitely entertaining for kids! They will play with them for at least 30 minutes! I got some for friend’s kid’s birthday gift and she said he played with them for 4 hours. 😱😭 they make a good gift or group activity! But they are so cheap that they make a great activity to have on hand, especially in summer!!

Worthwhile!
We ordered these for a science project and they did really well. Divided these beads into colors so that each liquid that we used had only one color in it. Those that we put in liquid that had more water molecules went from 1/16 in to 3/4 an in. They also hold water quite well as it took 2 weeks outside if liquid to go back down to original size.I truly thought I had ordered only one color, but that was not the case.

Fun for many different ages!
We have had some orbeez sets over the years, but this is definitely a better deal for the water beads themselves. The one thing we found is some easily broke apart (either when they were hydrating or were handled). Maybe that's the nature of how they work when handled? It just makes things a little more messy when playing with them (the little bits are hard to get off hands, and we live in an older home so I don't want to wash this stuff down the pipes). That said....My children love these! Hours of fun! I bought them initially to keep my 3 year old occupied while the 5-11 year olds play with perler beads (the 3 year old only wants to "make cookies" with the perler beads, meaning mix them up in the bucket, and many tend to fly off!). The 3 year does love the water beads! And so do the 5-11 year old children too! I would say they were played with for 2-3 hours on the first day, 2 hours on the second day, and 1 hour each day since. That's 1-3 hours of constructive, imaginative, non-electronic time people! The balls do bounce, so be aware. They spend a lot of time just running their hands through the balls. The 3 year old likes to pour the balls into different containers and then pour them back into the big bowl. The 5 year old likes to sort the colors. The older kids are fascinated with the balls and play along.I took one star off for the quality/quantity of balls that break, but it didn't keep the kids from having a blast playing with them. Definitely a great inside winter activity. For the most part it is an easy clean up (we empty all the water out before playing with the beads once they are fully grown).

Fun for kids!
I was sooo excited to try these with my 3 year old son. He loves playdoh and painting with his hands so i thought this would go great. They are super small when you buy them. I mean super small kinda like quinoa. They grow almost instantly. The package says 1 tbsp to 1.5 quarts of water. Let sit for 8 hours. Drain extra water off and youre good to go.Okay so ill admit i didnt follow the directions to a T... i only let them sit for about 2 hours. They had gotten pretty big and i was anxious. So we just put them in a container to play with. My son loves them! He likes sticking his toys in and finding them and squishing them in between his fingers.Oh, I cant forget he loved smashing them with his hammer! Once he was done playing with them i just put them in a cardborad box and let him smash them.I just feel like they pop super easily.. and like i said i only had them in water for 2 hours.. you would think the longer theyre in water the more breakable they would be. (I also threw another tablespoon of beads in about half way threw soaking so there would be different sizes.)I guess i expected them to be smooth like marbles but theyre not until theyve reached their full growth potential, until then theyre more shaped like everlasting gobstoppers. LolI wont be saving and reusing these ones because so many are popped and it isnt fun to pick thru or easy to strain and not get into your sink. Im sure as we use them more ill figure them out. But the bag is huge so im sure we will have some for a while. In the pictures that is 2 tbsp of dry beads.
