Anesthesia: A Comprehensive Review: Expert Consult: Online and Print

It has thusfar been a productive read - it is very easy to pick up this book for 5 minutes, or 2 hours, as the primary format is Q&A. The questions have appropriate detail, and the explanations are excellent. My only disappointment is the length. Amazon states the book is 448 pages, but it's quite obvious that this could not possibly be true. It is only 300 or so, and thus I felt a little bit cheated considering the price is ~$70 new. At any rate, a worthwhile use of residency book funds, and I can imagine that it would be perfect for flights when interviewing for positions or fellowships in preparation for board exams. Would definitely recommend.

I highly recommend this book for anyone in anesthesia. Kind of outdated but good to read over and just keep in mind some useless information, but nonetheless when encountering 70 year old attendings and those from the third world that work with halothane and enflurane they will refer back to some of the information. Definately buy it.

This is a good basic book to review for the boards. Word of warning - the "new edition" is exactly the same as the old edition. There are no major updates, and the questions are the same. Find an old (within the last couple years) edition for cheap! Seems kind of like a scam - they should warn people.

Very appropriate questions. Sometimes a bit too complex- but the whole point is to learn. This is great to pick up when you just have a few extra minutes each day to study & review.

My favorite book to study from. I get bored just reading textbooks. Much better for me to do questions, then read the answer/related topic to the questions.
