Best Price I've Found. Easy setup. Quality Gong. Held up great, cept when I hit the chains ( my Fault for missing). Really fun when you put a bleeding target on it.

I received the gong in a very timely manner. In fact, one day earlier than predicted. The target and stand were packaged well to prevent the parts from banging around in the box. The finish on product was clean and crisp. No sags or runs in the paint. It took about 5-7 minutes for the initial assembly. The holes lined up nicely and I did not have to force any of the bolts through due to irregular hole sizes or paint build up. The thing fit together like a glove. The instructions were clear and precise. The inset diagrams made sure that I had the right bolts. The only tricky part was making sure that the chains were attached evenly so that the gong hung exactly centered. (perhaps my OCD took over there). Testing the stability of the gong inside showed that there was not rattle or sloppiness in the stand or the gong. The stand breaks down for easy transport. Simply pulling the two sides of the upper rail off makes moving this thing from the house to the range a breeze. Once at the range the reassembly took about 30 seconds. We placed the target at 100 yards for testing with reloads and cast projectiles. The orange sticker on the face of the gong makes finding he target against a dark background very easy to do. They also include replacement stickers which no other company that I know of does.We took the following firearms out to the range for testing. .270, .556, .22, 32 cal, 38 cal 45 LC and 45 ACP. Remember that we use both factory and reloaded ammo. We tested, FMJ, plated and coated bullets as well as lead alloy cast bullets. We tested first with rifles and then with the pistols. Our velocity ran from 2995 ft/sec down to about 600 ft/sec. This gong took everything that we threw at it and kept asking for more. Sound from the gong was loud enough to give us audible feedback even at long ranges with the .22. We sent several hundred rounds down range and the gong chewed up them up and spit them out. We were really impressed with the performance of both the gong and the stand. Even after a constant stream of lead the stand moved only about 1/2 inch. The stand held up nicely to the splatter from the impact of the rounds and even a stray round that impacted the top cross bar. (that shooter will remain nameless...CJ). Even after taking a direct hit to the frame the parts still removed easily when it came time to pack it up. The gong itself showed no dents on either surface and did not chip or crack when taking rounds to the outer edge.If I were to change anything about this target system I would like to see the washers that are used to mount the gong a litter bigger. They hold the gong in place but I prefer washers that will cover the chain a little more.Overall we are extremely impressed with the performance of this gong and stand. It is exactly what we were looking for. This thing is sturdy and will hold up shot after shot. You can pay more money for another target but I you won't find better performance.

The design is simple and easy to assemble. We try it at 75 yards with different calibers and took it well. Now the base took some major damage. Between 270 and .223 the arms were almost bent. The back openings after bullets went through were extremely dangerous. Big openings that can give you nasty cuts. Thinking to change the arms with something that could be simple to replace. One of the legs took a shot by the screw and tore it apart. Still will recommend it.

Great gong that lasted through a 5.56. Bring extra chains. We shot the chain, and it did snap and broke but thats going to happen. Unfortunately we did shoot one through the stand that connects the two bars from disassembling. It went through the metal and bend it outwards where we can't no longer pull it apart, but its not the company's fault. The other chain was still able to with hold the gong, and we were able to still have fun.

I've priced out several complete steel gong target systems and for the price, the Viking can't be beat. It shipped fast and arrived a few days before the estimate. It was easy to put together, you just need a socket and crescent wrench to tighten everything down. It's a piece of high quality AR500 steel, no question about that. I shot .223, 30-30 and even a round of 30-06 for fun.and barely noticeable other than it flipped the gong around once for good measure. I was shooting at distances of approximately 85-90 yards. The frame is solid and well made. After a day of shooting, the only noticeable damage was some paint flecked off from the shrapnel. My only regret was not getting the 8 and 10" package which is a SCREAMING deal. Buy with confidence.

I've spent hours shooting steel targets at various ranges w/both handguns & rifles. By far this target is the easiest to set up & also to transport. In your yard, range or deer lease this target will provide many hours of enjoyment & also keep you sighted in for the shot that counts. Excellent product w/a sturdy, simplistic design. Shot with 308 at 100 yards and besides impact spots there's no damage to plate after 40 rounds. Gong is very audible at this range. Target stand is showing some minor wear and tear from shrapnel but this is expected. Stand is lightweight and takes seconds to set up so it's great if your shooting alone. Overall for the price I'm very happy with the purchase and would buy again. I would suggest swapping chain bolts to grade 8 bolts as both did strip and 1 broke by the end of the day, which is expected with such a high caliber round.**update** after another 200+ rounds of 308 at 100yrds coupled with 100+ rounds of 223, and there is still no damage to the plate. The stand also took a direct hit to the top and only dented but is structurally sound and still working fine. I went with the cheaper option on Amazon (which usually ends in disappointment) but this is the exception. Everyone will ask you at the range "where did you buy that?." I've already saved more than $75 that would have been spent on targets and target holders. Thanks Viking Solutions!

This is a really good target if you plan to do some mellow, small caliber shooting. The stand is extremely sturdy but I am not impressed by the plate that came with it. I took it out shooting 3 times and on the 3rd time the eye hole where the plate bolts to the chain broke off when it was hit by a .223 at 100 yards.
