I have a brand new hp pavillion touch laptop. will this lock work for that?

We're glad you asked! Honestly even with our relationships with OEM's we have trouble getting information about which of their devices have which lock slot. Your best bet is to go to HP's support website, type in the exact model name (e.g, 15-cs0003ca), then click the "User Guides" link, then open the Maintenance and Service Guide file. Around page 4 you'll see the security slot type. With the 15-cs0003ca (which is a Pavillion 15) page 4 stated a Nano Security Cable Slot which is our model #K64444WW. When I look up a different model (15-cc060wm) the guide states "Security Cable Slot" which is vague but probably means our standard Kensington lock mechanism will work (like this model K65035A). So, because of the wide variety of notebooks, and even Pavilion models, be safe and check the support website. Thanks!

I installed this lock on my laptop k-slot, i know it's locked, because i tried to pull it off & it did't come off. but why does it feel so loose?

It’s the device maker which is responsible. All Kensington can do is provide specs. I’ve had this problem & used a rubber washer to make it fit snug. The loose feeling won’t affect the locks ability to secure the device.

Does it work with the new smaller Dell security slot?

Hi, Dell made a decision a couple years ago to change to a unique slot, which is a wedge lock design. We designed two skus that work with Dell's new design: part#K64440WW is keyed, and part #K64442WW for a combination lock.

Will this fit a lenovo thinkpad x220?

I'm sorry that this lock is not compatible with Lenovo thinkpad x220. Lenovo Thinkpad x220 needs "mini security lock", however, it is no longer available now.
