Is there an opening to plug in earphones?

Like everyone said, there are 2 openings. That does not necessarily mean that either of the openings will match the location of the earphone hole on your phone. I have an HTC One, and the openings didnt quite match for me, but I cut a new one with scissors and the case works just fine.

Does anyone know if my phone will fit in this case with an OtterBox on it?

I have an LG Stylo 4 with an Otterbox case and it does not fit this armband, even just the phone itself is too long to close the top of the armband. My phone's dimensions are Height: 6.25 inches / just under 16 cm and Width: a little over 3 inches (buttons included) / just under 8 cm. I would consider this a medium-sized case for a bare phone or a small-sized case if you leave your phone in your drop-case.

It says this will fit an iphone 6 along with a 5, but i am wondering if it was made for one or the other. Specifically how well it will fit my 5s?

It fits my 6 pretty snug. Like a new pair of jeans. But it would fit your 5s fine if you're ok with a little to room. But it flips over the phone on top and can be tightened on your arm so it should be fine for your 5s.
