Good value
Works great after 2 summers of use. I replaced a paper cartridge filter with this sand one and I do recommend sand over cartridge due to continuously having the take out the cartridge and clean it (major pain). Be careful attaching fittings due to the plastic can crack if over tightened. Use teflon tape to assure no fitting leaks. Filters as good as cartridge filters. Good value.

material/manufacturing issue
Very disappointed with this sand filter. The filter housing has developed stress cracks all around the fitting, causing it to constantly leak water. I only hand-tightened the fitting and did not overtighten it or use excessive force. For a pool filter that is only about a month old, this is completely unacceptable. The cracks appear to be a material/manufacturing issue, and now the filter is leaking and cannot be trusted to hold pressure properly. I would not recommend this XtremepowerUS 22-inch sand filter based on my experience. A pool filter should not develop cracks and start leaking after only a month of normal use.

Buy this save money
Installed as a replacement to upgrade to larger size last year. Perfect quality. Same exact item as in the pool store for 1/2 the price. no issues.

Piping may be different if you already have a sand filter
Was easy to set up if you know how to reconnect a couple of pipes that are different than our old sand fill. Followed directions and our pool/water is beautiful
