Bought this set recently as I didn't have any water stones for sharpening knives, but ended up giving it to my dad since he needed a set too and uses them more often. Today he opened up the set after grandmother was having trouble with her vegetable knife. Unpacked it, tossed a couple stones in the water, and sharpened it up. He's never been a big fan of the angle guides (like the one included), so he just eyeballed what the 20 degree angle looked like from the guide and went from there, finished sharpening, then finished it off with the leather strop. Came out nice and sharp. He then sharpened up the old dull butcher's knife while he was at it.He was pretty impressed with the quality of the stone, as he's had cheap stones in the past and they've fallen apart on him (though time will tell; will update if they fall apart), but this kit seemed to have pretty decent stones. He likes the bamboo holder and the fact that it included a flattening stone (which he hasn't used yet); didn't really use the gloves that came with it.All in all, quality product. More or less it's worth the price that it's listed at. Would buy again.

Haven't had a wet stone for a long time. Forgot how well a good stone sharpens knives! Super sharp knives are now working as they should. If you've never used this, kinda tricky but there is a clip on guide to your knife that makes it much more easy to keep your angle. These have 4 different coarseness stones, so they will sharpen even the dullest of knives. Highly recommend

I love this kit!! Even if you not sure you can do it, you can do it. I have been watching tutaorials on You Tube about using the stone to sharpen knives. This kit also includes an angle guide to help train your hand in holding the knife at the right angle. I am not a pro yet but I highly recommend these stones. Follow the ditections and submerge the stone in water for about and hour begore use. And keep a bowl of water out for each time you use it after that. Dont give up and keep learning.

The item is what I expected however the packaging was very poor. The box was broken up and the items looked as if they had been taken out or something. This was for Christmas so I dont have a picture but I could not use the box it came in. There also was some type of small beads in the bottom of the box that I have no idea what they were.

Delivered quickly. A nice set for most sharpening applications. Includes a leather strop which most other sets lack. Needs oil.

This is a wonderful, All you need, kit for professional sharpening knives. Follow directions and you can make your knives as sharp as a razor. Use the gloves! you will cut yourself if your not careful.

I had a small problem with the package I received being damaged and when I notified the sellers of this, they fixed it right away and I was back to sharpening. The stones work well and my kitchen knives are happy.

This set put a really good edge on my very dull knife, and it's a beautiful piece of kit. But the bamboo base had a section that was loose so I'll need to touch up with glue
