Chipped
Apparently it's made from premium-quality, chip-resistant earthenware but when mine was delivered it had a big chip on it, the box was perfect and beautifully packed inside which proves that this mixing bowl was placed inside the box chipped and considering you can't chip them what happened?Sent back for a refund and wouldn't purchase from this seller again.

Always wanted a Mason Cane Mixing Bowl. Just perfect!
First of all, I would like to thank you for all the participants who took their time to answer my question. I decided to pick a 5L 32cm bowl. I wanted a good quality mixing bowl, that is large enough to mix enough for making bread, salad, Christmas cake etc. So enjoyed the process as it brought back memories of my school cookery class when I was a teenager. I did some price comparison with some department store and this purchase from here definitely fits the bill. This bowl is really sturdy and easy to grip. I trust this mixing bowl will last me a life time. Love it and highly recommended!

They seem to have sorted the packaging issue
I read a lot of reviews in which bowls arrived broken due to poor packaging - I'm delighted to tell you that they seem to have rectified this practice (they've probably worked out that a little extra packaging is cheaper than replacing entire bowls) and my bowl arrived well packaged and in one, lovely piece. What else? It's a fine, sturdy bowl and looks great!

Well loved brand, over many years, and with good reason.
Recently, I've been lucky enough to pick up a couple of bigger Mason Cash bowls from my local charity shop, for a couple of quid each. And using them both reminded me of baking with my mother, and how, in comparison, my plastic mixing bowls were just...nasty.So I've treated myself to this smaller sized one. Only just used it for the first time, so can't comment on durability. But very happy to have taken old bowls down to the charity shop!

Huge bowl with lots of potential uses in addition to baking...highly recommend...
Beautiful bowl. Came quickly and extremely well packed, so no worries there. Huge capacity and heavy enough to sit still while mixing with the electric whisker. Was able to mix 3 Victoria sponges mixes in one go; 24oz flour, 24 of sugar, 24 of margarine and 12 eggs. No problems with 'splash back' as high deep sides keep everything contained. Lip on edge of bowl does give a comfortable grip if you need to lift or angle your bowl and curved bottom to bowl means no corners and your whisk can move through the mixture smoothly; this also makes for easily getting all your mixture out into your tins (if cake baking) and easy cleaning at the end. I had one of these bowls from my auntie for many years. I do think the older ones were even heavier and thicker, maybe stronger too. But this updated version is strong, however I have managed to chip one edge with the back of my mixer when creaming a cake mix; so watch out for the depth and be more careful than I when working near an edge. Also, you may need to prop' up your mixer on a chopping board or something when at rest with the whiskers over the bowl, as it is obviously quite high. Overall, well made and wonderful for large mixtures. Also using for soaking gammon joints (or marinades with meat cuts in advance of cooking), great for prepping lots of veg in water too, perhaps in advance of a large family roast dinner or similar. Rising bread mixture in the airing cupboard etc. So it has many uses. Recommend - just be careful with the bowl edge and harder utensils.
