Third unit, third house!
As long as I can find this unit, I'll install it in every house or apartment I live in. Make sure you use a gasket to seal it good and check once a year to unclog the nozzle by dipping it in C-L-R, and back to as-new condition.

Whole house Humidifier
Works well for a few years but then can malfunction and leak into your furnace. Had to have mine replaced.

Easy to install, better than drum type humidifiers
I love this humidifier. Very simple to install - Took me about 3 hours to do and the hardest part was cutting through the ducts. You just want to make sure you have a nearby water supply and a nearby power supply for it. Not as bulky as the drum type humidifiers, it doesn't require constantly caring for the drum foam thing, and the mist it creates is so fine one would swear is cold steam. You need to be careful the first few days though to make sure the level of humidity you're generating is adequate and not excessive - if it's excessive it will quickly clog your filters and make your furnace over work, which i turn will result in more humidity released and it will start dripping. Check the filter closely and adjust the humidity in the dial accordingly. Also make sure you install it following every step of the instructions or you may end up installing in the wrong place or directing the mist at the heat sensor. I would highly recomend it, it will cost slightly more than a drum type humidifier but once you add up other installation costs and the drum maintenance, you'll be happy you bought this one.

Buyer beware. Lookto the one percent reviews before buying on impulse
For awhile it work, till it started leaking after one use. What on earth is the manufacturing company doing ? Are they taking shortcuts on their work? In any case it took awhile but I finally got my money back.

Not For Every House
Be sure this injection mist humidifier can work for you. Injection Mist Humidifiers caused standing water in my duct work, caused duct corrosion - even with galvanized metal ducts-, and water leaked through pin hole corrosion in the duct. My injector was within the installation distances - but the injector was still too close to surfaces where the humidified air water re-condensed - just as if a pair of eyeglasses placed above a pot of boiling water will cause water to condense on the cooler glass surface. I wish someone told me to be careful of this before water damaged furniture and replacement of ducts were need years latter.

Great unit. Be sure to feed 24V from the blower relay.
When I first installed these I had too much water in the system. Turns out the spray head continues to spray until the air drops below 120ยฐF, which can be longer than needed. So I wired the 24V to the relay that feeds the blower motor and that solved the problem. Also, make sure the air temp at your coil is at least 120ยฐF (around 110-115ยฐF at the room vents) or the system simply will not work. I found this out, sadly, when we upgraded the air handler. The added air flow prevents the coil from reaching the target air temp and the humidifier never starts. I really miss that unit now!

It is a logical and practical solution, here is why
I have bought and installed this one myself. It has worked flawlessly for 3 years now. I have read a lot online about it as well as other humidifiers before choosing it. It works by creating a very fine mist into the hot forced air. The mist evaporates almost instantly given the very small size of the water particles and the temperature and speed of the blown air. It is simply not going to go back down to the furnace. The device is provided with a sensor that projects into the duct. It senses the temperature of the air, and opens the valve for water to flow when air reaches high enough temp. The device has a nob to change the sensitivity of the sensor, so you can set it to open early or late after the air starts to blow depending on level of desired moisture. The sensor will also shut water off when air temperature starts to decrease. Again the sensitivity can be changed by that nob. If you are afraid that this device may damage your furnace as some have suggested, just decrease the sensitivity. It will open only when air temp is maximal, and shut with the beginning of temp decrease. I have played with the nob several times and watched how it changes the flow (light turns on and off to indicate water flow). I have also pulled out the nozzle and watched the mist formation to make sure it is still as fine as it should be. I can tell you that after 3 years of use, it still does produce a very fine mist as it did when I bought it. I didn't have to change the nozzle yet. However, the water here is of good quality, and doesn't have a lot of minerals (lake michigan). If you do have hard water, you'll need a filter to prevent nozzle malfunction, and dust formation. Another important factor is water pressure. It has to be 50 or above for optimum function. In my house it is usually around 65. The higher pressure drives the water through the nozzle to produce the fine mist. without it, it will not be fine enough to evaporate quickly. You can measure your house water pressure easily. Just go to any homedepot, lowes, menards, etc.. and buy a pressure gauge. It is fairly cheap (less than 10 $). Also important, determine the humidity level using a hygrometer. Mine was less than 30% before installing Thermomist, and became and stayed at around 50% after using it. You can notice the difference in comfort also. Overall, I have had nothing but good experience with this device. If installed properly, and adjusted accurately, it'll provide you with a long, reliable, and cheap whole house humidity. Compare that to the other pricey products out on the market, the maintenance they need, the cost of installation, and repair. I did. I found it a good choice.
