If yes, how does it provide it with a soft back?** A: It is perfect for sitting at a picnic table where there is no back support. I find sitting at picnic tables exhausting for my back. But with this seat, I can relax. **Q: Can you stand and cheer without the seat collapsing?** A: Yup! **Q: I was thinking of using these in my classroom for second graders during reading time. Do you think it would work for them?** A: I can't imagine a well-behaved second grader causing any harm to these because they weigh so little, but I'm not so sure if they were to horse around in them... I have no idea how durable they are over time. I'm a "normal" sized man and broke one within the first 15 minutes of sitting in it while attending an outdoor concert. **Q: Would this work for a 250 lb. person in the sit up position?** A: I would recommend another brand that I purchased for my husband. ALPS Mountaineering weekender seat. It is made real sturdy. This Coleman seat is okay, I bought it because I was looking for a black seat. So far it has been working out.
