has a weird smell
The beads in this has a very strong chemical smell to them, and I am afraid this smell will attach itself to my clothing. it kind of works, but I bought a dehumidifier instead...because of the smell issue.

Awful!
I should have listened to the other reviews. The flakes became rock hard, so much so that I couldn’t even break it up with a fork. After A MONTH of use, where I put it right beside my fish tank, there isn’t even enough water to cover the bottom. I measured it...two teaspoons to be exact. These are the same issues I read about in the reviews before buying it to give it a try.I use Damp Rid that have the hook to hang, with the clear plastic on the bottom part where the water collects from the humidity that is pulled from the air, and every single one I’ve used (for a year now), slowly fills with water, and is easy to dispose of. The hanging one, I put by that same fish tank, to see if maybe there just wasn’t a lot of humidity in the air there, but.....the bag filled. It must be a poor/non working design of this particular container.Don’t do what I did. Believe the reviews, and if you’re really wanting something to pull the humidity from the air that actually works, buy the ones that have the hanger.

Saved my nose and my Patience :-D
We had a flood in our kitchen, in our brand new home from our GE R.O system (If I could rate that sucker on here I would, don't buy.) Our home builder came in with de-humidifiers and dried up the area well after ripping out our flooring and the bottom of our kitchen cabinets. They sprayed for mold and mildew as well. Even after all of that work, we still had a faint musty smell coming from under the sink. We have an open floor plan into the living room and the odor just wafter into that open area plus all the way to the entry way. I was so over the smell so I decided to try Damp rid. It completely worked. Within 2 days my house smelled normal again. I can't even recommend this product enough. Its still under my sink, I will give it a few more days and post an after picture of what it looks like after heavy use.

A must for musty odors.
I live in a humid climate, where keeping towels and sheets smelling fresh seems impossible. I purchased DampRid FG60FS Moisture Absorber, Fresh Scent and placed one of the two containers in a small bathroom closet where my wife and I store linens. It has been working like a charm! I personally like the fresh scent DampRid provides the close space. After 2 weeks towels and sheets still smell fine. No musty odors. My only complaint (and not necessarily a fault of the product), is due to the high humidity levels of my Florida home, the crystals convert to liquid quickly. I anticipate having to change it more frequently than the average home due to climate challenges. With that said, it has been the most effective method in the prevention of the pesky mildew smells that can propagate during the rainy season. I highly recommend stocking up on DampRid to address musty odor issues. I like the small inconspicuous buckets as they are easy to place on the floor or a shelf. The hanging versions are slightly more conspicuous and cumbersome.~ Kort

Inconsistent humidity absorption
Update April 13: After 7 months I have some mixed results. In one bathroom where I don't use the shower almost the entire container dissolved. In my other bathroom where I use the shower daily where it does not have a window but does have a ceiling fan, that Damp Rid container is only half dissolved. I'm not sure why the Damp Rid in the shower bathroom is not dissolving as quickly as the other bathroom(probably because of the ceiling fan) but nevertheless, it has lasted 7 months. That being said I'm not sure if the Damp Rid is doing a good job but I guess it's better than having nothing?--------------------------------------------------Been using for 11 days in my master bathroom that has no fan where it gets quite humid. During winter when it is cold I get mold and mildew on the walls so I thought I would find a remedy before fall/winter comes. I had never heard of DampRid before so I thought I would try it out.Like others have reviewed and as you can see in my pictures, the crystals got hard/clumped together and did not dissolve into water like they are supposed to. There is zero water or condensation in the bottom of the bucket, and I check every day. But the pile of crystals did shrink down a lot so I assume it absorbed humidity in my bathroom? Problem is that I've only had it 11 days and half the crystals have disappeared. At this rate, this thing will not last longer than 4 weeks. Also the fragrance is not great, it does smell like kitty litter like others have said. At least it's not too strong so I can deal with it.I don't know if this is a scam or if many of these are just defective despite all of the great reviews and success it has for other customers. However since it obviously does not last very long, I won't be purchasing it again. I will try the DampRid hanging bag as others seem to have good experiences with that one. Or, I will just buy a rechargeable dehumidifier like Eva-Dry, I use that brand for my safe and seems to work OK.

Works, but is space-relative (buy more than you think you need).
My sunken living room was really starting to smell like mildew so I threw this in the old Amazon cart. It has a clean laundry smell and is big enough to do the job but small enough to hide. I've used this product before in my car after it flooded so I know it sucks moisture out of the air. I wasn't sure how effective it would be in the house so I opened and placed both buckets from the two-pack. Well, it turns out that I had a massive mold issue behind a bookshelf (hence the smell). I undertook the massive project of cleaning up the mold and a few days later I left for a vacation. When I returned, the little buckets had collected quite a bit of water! I still have a few weeks left on these buckets, but I went ahead and threw another set in the cart so I'm ready for the next round. I will continue to keep these out around the house.
