I like this book
I like this book. I bought it, not simply because I wanted to build the tools, but as a source of exercises, to periodically build the tools and maintain my skill set. That is one of the major points of the book, not just to build the tools, but to build them to a very high degree of precision, fit & finish.

Great for novices
Good for the novice or home shop machinist. Anyone with more than hobbyist experience will be disappointed.

Easy to make Very useful projects for model/ hobby engineering
The book covers 3 sections namely Benchwork comprising of 6 projects which are quite simple to make, the sixth being a small filling machine which would prove to be extremely useful in model and other engineering pursuits. Section 2, Lathework has 8 projects including a slotting attachment for cutting keyway slots as found in gears and pulleys, very useful. Section 3 is milling, making a small vice that does not use a leadscrew. Excellent book if only to make the 3 major projects for the cost of a magazine !

The book is full of useful items that need to be manufactured by the reader
The book is full of useful items that need to be manufactured by the reader. So far I haven't had time to make any of them as I tend to only perfrom work immediately required, rather than indulge this as a hobby.
