UP AQUA rain bar Unit

Fluval Spec V owners! If you intend to use this for the included filter, beware that this rain bar only fits if you attach it to the Fluval angle piece of tube AND the ball joint. Otherwise it doesn’t fit. Works great once you get it on, I can use highest flow setting and angle the output towards the wall of the aquarium so that the water isn’t violent but there is still great water flow.

This product was reasonably priced, and was easy to assemble. Although the fit was a bit tight, I was able to attach the elbow to the to the Fluval fitting that runs between the pump and display cavities. I enlarged the five orifices using a 1/8" drill in order to reduce the velocity of the water flow. Because of the size of the Spec V, I used only one tube in a vertical orientation. The velocity of the water flow was still too high for my betta (even with the Fluval pump set at the lowest setting). I may increase the orifice diameters using a 3/16" drill in order to further reduce the water velocity. Even with the required adjustments though, this product is pretty good.Amendment to my last review: I have since enlarged the five orifices using a 5/32" (0.156) drill. I also added an orifice using a 1/8" (.125) drill angled upwards at 45 deg at the elbow bending down to the vertical tube. This added opening allows water to flow upwards towards the top surface of the water to hopefully improve upon oxygenation. My betta is not so bothered by the current from the water flow as compared to using the original Fluval outlet fitting.

I needed a spray bar for a tank that was missing one for the filter. This product fit perfectly and continues to work good!

I needed to diffuse the current of the outflow for my Waterbox Cube 20G but even setting the pump to low wasn’t enough. This spray bar was perfect. I was concerned it wouldn’t work since the existing nozzle is in a specific spot and I can’t move it like a canister filter. But Thai was perfect without any modifications! I just removed the existing elbow and used the elbows that were included and it was just the right length so I could attach the bar to the glass with the suction cups. The distributed spray even creates better flow under the driftwood and rocks to get debris into the water column.

Definitely made poorly. Outside of that, it did it’s job but didn’t fit together the best.

Will not attach to Fluval canisters securely. Design of tubes and bends is odd bad for aquascaping. But for price compared to Fluval attachment... can't complain too much. Just materials for a DIY project.

used this to create a vertical spray bar into my fluval spec v to lower the current for my betta. Have not tried the suction cups but they seem better quality than the ones that come with midrange heaters.
