Whoever said 1 5/8" rod doesn't fit in this is full of it. I went to great lengths ordering a backup socket from another manufacturer but to my surprise these things fit and they are not too tight with some allowance. I like how the material is metal and I knew it would support the rod I'm using to hold up jackets and sweaters in the closet. The only thing I didn't like were that the screws easily strip so I recommend setting your drill torque down to 3 but no more than that and adjust accordingly.

They recommend using 3/4" screws. However if you use 3/4" screws (included) and you have 1/2" drywall, you will only have about 1/8" that will penetrate a stud or blocking behind the wall. I ended up using anchors that I had on hand. 1" screws would have worked for me because of blocking behind the wall, but the included screws are useless if you expect to put any weight on the hanger.

Well, these help to stabilize a closet rod. And actually, even when my foster child threw a raging tantrum and tried to rip them off the wall, they stayed in place like little white, plastic champions.So if you install them correctly, I'd say they can handle any storm.

The heads of 2 out of the 6 screws stripped off when I screwed them in. If you’re using this for something important just buy your own screws. I now have a homemade table with 2 screws I can’t get out. The sockets themselves worked exactly as planned though

I recommend buying these! They are strong and heavy duty! They hold up the rod that has lots of clothes hanging on them! A good buy! A satisfied customer!

Solid product. Haven't installed yet, but will be much better than the plastic ones it will replace. Screws included, but you will probably need wall anchors to install, unless you can screw directly into wall studs.

These things are much better than the plastic ones I had that broke. they came with the mounting screws and it was pretty easy to install for the most part with a drill.

I originally was using a tension rod for coats in my closet, but found that it would not support the weight. Bought these and no more problem with tension rod falling down.

So far so good, it seems very sturdy. No complaints here !
