One of the better pens of my collection
I was skeptic of this pen for a while but I thought I would try it out to see if it was worth the price tag. Happy to report that I was not disappointed, as a matter of fact I use this pen more than the other fine pens that I have. Love the weight, comfort and smooth writing that it produces. Very well machined pen.

One of the best pens I’ve ever used
Normally I’m a fountain pen guy, but I love this pen. The ink is always smooth and the weight is perfect.

Great Concept but Details Matter
As a collector of quality pens, I do like sturdy pens. This pen is sturdy enough but the twist mechanism would not retract - maybe I got a faulty model. Second is the weight. It is almost twice the weight of the other models so you can really notice it when writing and it feels off. I am 6' and 220 lbs. and I don't have small hands. I really liked the pen but I was finding that I would have to adjust to it which one should not do with the right writing instrument.

Internal mechanism not quality.
The outer materials are great. The brass is great looking and the weight is nice. However, the internal twist mechanism that makes the pen work is secured to the body of the pen by what appears to be a small amount of glue that does not hold. The entire internal mechanism came out of the pen when I tried to replace the Everyman cartridge with the standard Parker style refill, which Everyman markets as one of the major selling points of the pen; that it can accept any Parker G2 style refill. The refill got stuck in the back part of the pen, and when I pulled it out the entire internal mechanism came loose. Now I cannot twist the pen closed without unscrewing the pen, and I cannot pull on the grip without the entire mechanism coming out. I really don’t understand how Everyman can construct the entire pen out of brass, but fail to secure the most important part of the pen (the twist mechanism) with what appears to be a small amount of cheap glue.

Update
There is much to love about this pen. The brass is beautiful. The grip diameter is 0.420" which I think is perfect. The machined grooves in the grip make it easy to hold onto. It is VERY heavy at 1.8 oz, which makes it easy to write with. The clip is well made and durable. But there are some bad things too. The twist mechanism is stiff. There was substantial clearance between refill and body when the refill was extended, causing unacceptable amount of wobble. I felt it anytime I wrote. There was far more clearance than in other pens I own. I'd hoped it was just a problem with the Grafton brand refill, which is styled like a Parker G2. When I replaced it with an actual Parker, or Faber Castell refill, it was a disaster. Neither would fit into the twist mechanism. They must have been a few thousandths too big. That was a deal breaker for me. I returned the pen (thank you, Amazon, for your amazing return policy) and have a 2nd pen coming tomorrow. I deeply hope that the first pen was a quality control anomaly, and that the tip wobble and refill interference will be solved. If so, my rating will go from a 2 to a 5. Stand by for an update in the next day or so. But tonight, I'm deeply disappointed.--- update ---Amazon replaced the first pen and it is somewhat better. There is less clearance between pen tip and refill, and that helps quite a bit. The problem with the Parker refill sadly still remains. A standard Parker refill will not fit into the twist mechanism. I took one of my Parker refills and filed and sanded its non-tip end down about 0.005" and it works perfectly. I hope Everyman can fix this tolerance problem, because it is otherwise an excellent pen. Because the tip wobble on this pen is so much better, I've upgraded the review from 2 to 4 stars.

My Wife is Hard to Impress!
Typically my wife is hard to impress, but she absolutely loved the feel of this pen. It is well weighted and she really likes the way it writes. It is definitely well worth the cost to make a wife happy! After all, happy wife, happy life.

These are the best pens on the market.
This pen in particular (all of everymans pens are great) has a great weight and feel. It writes better than anything I have ever used. The warranty is fantastic as well.
