Bought for a motorcycle but actually started my 4.3L truck 3 times with some to spare
I bought this for my road motorcycle. You do NOT want some tow truck driver to use his rig for cars to tow your motorcycle because of a dead battery and you aren't likely to push start a 1,200cc bike by yourself. You will also not get standard jumper cables on most bike battery terminals. So this was perfect. Small and with what should be enough juice to start any bike engine. However I was curious if it would start a full size car, in this case a truck with a 4.3 liter gas engine. So I used my carbon pile load tester to drain my truck battery to 8 volts which is low enough to barely give a click click click when you turn the key. I hooked this tiny little thing up figuring all I would get is a soft grunt and that's it. It started it right up, not once but three times. Each time I drained the battery back down because it took a little charge when the engine started for a few seconds. The engine didn't spin as fast as with a full battery, but it didn't grunt slowly to life either.I would not count on this as your only line of defense for a larger engine because the specs are not real. As an electrical engineer I can assure that this battery pack does NOT have 400 amps of usable power when it is only rated at 8,000mAh. Just not happening. But in a pinch it would seem to work as long as your engine is in good tune and will start quickly under normal circumstances.

It works. Don't leave home without it.
This little thingy paid for itself last night. In the dark, with a foot of snow on the ground, light ice covering the windshield, and 20-degree breeze waiting outside, my car wouldn't start. Not a light on the dashboard, not a sound from the starter. I grabbed a healthy flashlight, opened the back hatch, and dug out the cellphone-sized device I put there on August 20th. When I pushed the starter box 'on' button, all four blue LEDS lit up. I opened the hood, put the red and black clips on the battery terminals, plugged the end of the clip cord into the idiot-proof socket on the jump starter, and climbed back into the car. The dash lights came up immediately when I turned the key. The engine started the second time I turned the key and ran without hesitation. But the portable jump starter was drained; no blue LEDs. I plugged it into the included car charger. At the end of the drive. I worried about turning the car off I disconnected the car charger and saw four bright LEDs on the starter. Safely inside, I plugged in the wall charger. When I left a couple of hours later, the four LEDs shone brightly, even after I let go of the 'on' button. The jump starter kit includes a zippered storage case with elastic bands to hold each piece. It comes with three micro-USB cords to connect phones and tablets to the starter box's single USB charging port. I don't know if or when I'll need this Unyson jump starter again, but I bet it'll be charged and ready.

Very handy to have around.
The Unyson jumper unit came with everything that was shown on Amazon. The instructions were easy to follow. The battery pack feels solid in the hand. The flashlight works well and easy to operate. Charging my phone through the USB port was straight forward. The jumper cables feel durable. The power adapters feel cheap but they are functional. The unit comes with a smallish box that holds everything. The box is made out of a dense cardboard material. It has a flip lid that wraps around one side and is held down with a magnet.USAGE: I was able to jump-start my 4-cylinder, 2.0L car four times from a full charge on the jumper unit before the battery indicator dropped down to three LEDs. The manual states that jumping a car requires at least three LEDs to be lit, so I should have been able to jump-start my car another four times if I needed to. Once I resolved my car battery problem, I recharged the jumper unit and kept it in the trunk. After a month, the battery still shows a full charge. The manual states that the battery pack should hold its charge for at least 6 months.

First Unit Failed But Seller Replaced It Quickly
My unit worked great for a few months then it died. I never had occasion to use it to jump start my car but it was reassuring to have it around just in case, and it was a handy backup power source to recharge our phones and iPad on long car journeys. Unfortunately, the battery failed unexpectedly after a few months. I subsequently contacted the seller and they shipped me a free replacement under warranty. It remains to be seen how long the new one will last but they definitely get extra points for exemplary service.

This is a must have in your car arsenal for "Just in Case"...
Woo hoo! Homerun for me! Bought this on a humble for "just in case". Hubby and I went on vacation to SC for week. I packed my new gadget which my hubby told me was a waste of good money. All was well and we had no auto issues. Low and behold...when we fired up the Tahoe to leave the beach-NOTHING...Truck would not start!!!!!!!!!!!! Out with my gadget that I wasted my money on and voila! Started right up on first try!!! Invaluable to me and my hubby that day and stays in the truck! No more does he say it was a waste of money. We are going to buy more to give to my sisters for just in case...
