Ford, HOOD STAY GROMMET, W700510-S300

Our focus had a rattling sound coming from the front right of the car at cruising speeds. A ford mechanic looked at it and said it could be the hood prop rattling since the grommet was missing. I bought this replacement, and it stopped the rattling! Careful putting it in though... while trying to put it in, I dropped it and it fell into the crevice between the engine compartment and the body, and I couldn't get it back out. I had to order another grommet! This time I used a towel to block the crevice while putting it in. It's a little snug to get in, but that's good because you know it will hold well.

Had an issue with item not arriving even though USPS reported it delivered. I contacted seller right away and they had a replacement shipped immediately. The grommet fits well. You just have to insert by pressing on the little splice in grommet and then feeding it along metal rim. Now the hood prop is held securely.

Perfect fit for missing part.

Like others, I had a rattle/buzz coming from the passenger side dash area of my 2010 Ford Focus due to the missing (dry rotted and fell out) prop rod grommet. I used the tip of needle nose pliers to push the new one onto the hole but a flat screwdriver would work also. Didn't ever bother with hot water or dish soap and it went in fine. Start at the split and work your way around. After getting the grommet in the hole, slide the prop rod end back into the hole in the grommet. Rattle/buzz noise is gone now and no more loose, floppy hood prop rod.

This grommet just works perfectly on my 2003 Focus. If you try to install it with your fingers only, it would be really hard to do so. I used a hex wrench to push it down to set in place. There is no need to cut it, soak it in hot water, or using a soap.

Very simple to install. If you use hot water and lubricant, the installation is effortless. Now I don't have to continue to hold my hood up with one hand while I check my oil.

Just as a note, you are getting 1 (one) grommet. Not one package of 4 grommets as the picture shows. I found other places that sold the package of four for $15-$20 including shipping and I needed 2. I thought getting the package for about $8 was a real good deal. The seller did ship quickly and the part does work, just not as many I as thought I was getting.

Fit 2002 Ford Focus perfectly. Good quality and appears stronger that factory OEM part. INSTALLATION TIP:Soak the grommet in hot water for approximately 20 minutes to make it more flexible. I used a piece of wooden dowel to help push it into place. If you get a stubborn one, place a bit of liquid dish soap on it to make it slippery.
