way better than weak crimper tool
For rivet nuts, I previously used a small 11-inch rivnut crimping tool. That crimper was small, and too weak to set an M8 aluminum rivnut, and too weak for ANY stainless steel rivnut. I got it because it was cheap, and "did the job" for a DIY project, but ultimately, I hated how that tool was so hard to use, and I got mixed results. This new type of rivnut tool uses the torque of a drill to set the rivnut. It's much stronger than my small 11" crimper, and is also much stronger than a regular 14" crimper. It doesn't turn the nut while setting it, but just provides a steady strong pull on the nut. It has a smaller case and easy to store than the handle crimper. There's the one from AstroPneumatic, which is solid by pricey, but this cheapchinese immitation is pretty good.

Disposable tool?
I tried using the tool several times, but it stopped functioning. After disassembling it, I found that the main screw is stripped on both the inner and outer sides (as shown in the pictures). Although it was adequately greased, I wiped it off to inspect the screw. The metal seems too weak for this job.

Useful, but not simple to use
It took me a couple of rivers to figure out how to use it. The most important thing - you need to thread on rivet onto the attachment ALL THE WAY. all threads on the river need to be engaged or it will stop the river threads, and attachment threads as well. I wish attachment we made out of stronger stuff. The way it is, after a couple of different of rivers you could see threads wearing out. A couple dozen more and it's written out completely. But, if you make sure that every rivet is screwed in all the way, they would last longer. Another point- stop the tool before it starts stripping rivet. Once you feel strong enough tork - you're done. But in the end- it's useful to. Makes installing rivers much easier and faster, one you get the hang of it.

Well Made tool
I tried all the suggestions how to set rivet nuts without a tool specifically made for that purpose. I didn't have success with any of them. I saw this tool on Amazon and decided to purchase it based on the Amazon reviews & Youtube videos . This tool does what it is designed to do with great efficiency. It appears to be well made, the aluminum housing feels solid and comfortable to hold. I set 2 1/4x20 rivet nuts with my 18VDC battery operated DeWalt drill. It did a great job without bogged the drill down. I set my clutch to 17 & it seemed set the nut correctly without over tightening it. I put a 1/4 bolt in the nut and tightened it down very tight. The nut never showed any signs of slipping.

great idea but poorly executed
Either I received a previously used and damaged product or this is a cheaply made product. The drive shaft seems to have a slight bend to it so it wants to move from side to side as you try to set the rivet nut. The mandrels are made out of soft metal and as a result smaller size mandrels last only a handful of time as the rivet nut strip the threads on them before they are set even on lowest torque settings. I'm pretty sure that is the reason why the smaller metric mandrels seem to be always out of stock. I went back and looked at the product demonstration video they have on Amazon and noticed that even in their own video the second rivenut didn't set when he pulled away the tool.

AMAZING
This little guy is fantastic and fast. I use the M12 installation driver and its a match made in heaven.I read some previous reviews on no instructions but it is not difficult to figure out.Unscrew the top, remove the spring, unscrew the fitting that a rivnut would thread onto. Replace with desired size in the same orientation!I am using this to make custom ground and speaker mounting connections for car audio installs BUT I did get carried away and now have several spots on the work bench to hang things.
