Works great for clay, easy to clean.
I use this for extruding traditional clay for sculpting purposes. It's been very useful for making various shapes to speed up and make uniform various decorative elements for clay sculptures. Probably the best thing about it is how easy it is to clean. It comes apart in pretty much all directions and thus can be easily washed and reassembled. It also comes with a nice array of discs for different shapes of extrusions. Although it's small, it makes a generous length of strand so you are not having to constantly reload it.

Great extrude
I bought it for polymer clay. It works great. It much easier to use than a plunger extruder that's for sure. It unscrews completely for easy cleaning and the top unscrews if you want to quickly pull the plunger all the way in. The packaging is a reusable if you want but I eventually threw everything in a bag because I was lazy. It's made of a light aluminum but it's sturdy, I'e had mine for a couple of months now and I extrude harder polymer clay. It's well worth the price and it the same as the expensive one with a brand on it.

A Value-Priced Necessity for Cake Decorators!
I’ve always wanted an extruder for fondant but thought they were out of my price range. For almost $13, I thought this extruder was going to be cheaply made and might last a few weeks at most. This is a great extruder for it’s price! I’ve had it for over a year and it hasn’t broken, slower down, or otherwise shown any wear or tear.As long as your fondant is pliable, it works perfectly! It is easy to clean too. This extruder comes with 20 tips and honestly, I haven’t used all of them but all the ones I’ve used so far work great! I appreciate how tiny you can extrude fondant with this to replicate fibers, like tassels.

Value-priced extruder for polymer clay
I use the extruder for polymer clay so if you are buying it for fondant, this review may not reflect its usefulness. The price was the main factor in selecting this extruder. As a beginning polymer artist, I don't want to invest in more expensive tools, so this was a $mart choice on my part. This extruder is sufficient for my needs at this time and works well enough. Two things about this extruder are not to my liking. First, it comes with 20 stamped metal discs. There is a basic set of shapes. You probably could use discs from other, similar extruders in it. However, they discs are less sturdy (thinner) than I expected and one side is rougher than the other where the shape was punched out and not flattened completely. In other sets I've seen the discs are totally smooth on both sides.Secondly, it does not screw as smoothly as I would want. If you have arthritis, this may be hard on your hands.I feel that some sort of lubricant could be applied but haven't tried it yet. The endcap screw threads can accumulate clay and need to be cleaned carefully.

Love this!
I use this for clay and I used it for my gingerbread house(No one was going to eat it. It was for a contest)I loved the detail I was able to add because of this. It isn't difficult to clean and its easy to use. I've had it for a few months with semi-regular use. It seem fairly sturdy with polymer clay you REALLY want to work the clay to soften it up. Its strong but everything has its limit. I mostly worked with the air dry clay.

Works perfectly with store-bought fondant
This is the first time I have ever used fondant, and this tool made it so much easier than trying to pipe out some thin lines. I love the fact that it comes with different attachments and was worked perfectly every time I’ve used it.

Adequate but should come with free earplugs...
I bought this for my mum during her crafting therapy spree this year following the loss of my grandmother and have since inherited everything into my workroom. During my bout with a certain virus that shan't be named, I tried out the clay stuff. I'm not sure whether the meds or virus was that brutal in draining me of all strength or if this was really that tiring to use but I exhausted myself using this with 10oz of clay. I had the worst time getting the clay to go in. Listen, I'll admit, I'm dumb as hell sometimes, but I actually followed a tutorial for my jaunt into clay and this was like that scene in Disney's Cinderella where the stepsisters are trying to put on the glass slipper. It was like Timon trying to shove Pumbaa to safety when Nala was chasing them. It just wouldn't fit, it wasn't pretty, and no matter how I tried, it just got uglier. But I finally did get it loaded each time. And then. Then came the extrusion process. And all the twisting. And with each twist came this horrendous squeal. Like nails on a chalkboard. I've been sitting here contemplating WD40 as a solution but I'm not sure how it would impact the clay. But I do know I'm not using that unholy beast again unless I can figure out a solution or deign to buy one of the astronomically expensive professional ones. As for cleaning this. Buy a bottle brush, but not one of those all purpose kitchen scrubbing brushes that resemble toilet brushes. get a baby bottle brush wand. that way you can clear the entire cavity and not have other colours pollute your work.I hope this helped somebody. Or at least entertained.

Use it for Polymer Clay
Works great with polymer clay which is why I bought it. Plenty of dies to use. Only draw back is it sqeeks when you turn the handle. Recommend it.Update: Used it for about 2 months and it broke. It would be fair to say I used it only for polyclay which is not its original purpose. I purchased a new one but I make surey clay is conditioned really well and I don't fill it as much. So far so good.

Fabulous addition to my cake decorating tools
Finally got round to using this for the first time today, really pleased with the results. Extruded fondant icing in small strands to resemble cotton around a bobbin for a crafting cake. Very easy to use, great results & easy to clean afterwards. Highly recommended.

Could be better
Its ok as an extruder, but the rubber in the tube goes wonky very quickly. This is the second time I have purchased this, and both times it has done this.

Great product
Used for sugar paste.Had mixed views about buying one, due to variable reviews.I found it easy to use . Main thing is to have your sugar paste pliable with white veg fat- a bit like chewing gum !! It goes through easily and such fantastic results. Hooked on doing other things now to try the different discs!!
