Broke the needles sewing
Hand sewing and easily broke the needles when I pulled through the fabric.Maybe I'm hulky - I don't know - but my other needles could handle it, but these could not.Nice holder and interesting thimble - otherwise no good needles.Such a great concept, but looked flimsy from the get go.

Inexpensive, adequate
Know that I use side-threading needles only to bury thread ends after machine quilting, not for sewing, so these comments only pertain to that use of them. In the past I have ordered Sench needles, which may not be available now as before. Since there were some very large needles in those packages, I was pleased to find this set which has three sizes that are all rather small compared to the Sench, and the price is much less for a much larger quantity. They are short, but fairly thick, not especially sharp, and they would be hard to use for tightly woven or fine fabrics. They are, however, adequate for my needs and at a low price. A plus is the quite nice wooden case (screw top) so that they can be stored compactly and moisture-free. These are a Chinese import. There is an American company that makes or distributes a high quality side-threader, but they are expensive. Considering the number of times side-threaders get stuck and have to be broken, that is not a viable alternative, no matter how much I prefer to buy domestically.

Easier to thread but harder to work with
I got these for my girl scouts thinking they would be easier for them to thread. They are easier to thread but they are not easier to use. They literally shred the thread after a bit and the thread seems to fall offway more than a standard needle. Also one of my girls broke her in half right out of the gate so they aren't very durable. They are good and sharp though and they fit the embroider thread as well as regular all purpose sewing thread and the price was right, They are just frustrating to work with.

Find these difficult to find now with a major fabric sewing store closing up. These are great for aging eyes as well!!
