The PERFECT (almost) MUG!
My story may be a little different than most. I am a person with a disability and it's progressive so as I've aged I've lost strength and control in my hands and arms. It occurred to me recently, after some near misses, that an open mug of hot tea was becoming increasingly dangerous. We have Grande sized travel mugs that my hubby uses to make me a latte sometimes but for my middle of the night tea breaks I like to use our ancient Hot Shot and make my own. Problem is the receptacle height of the Hot Shot maxes out at 4.5" which will not accommodate most lidded commuter mugs. After reviewing all options out there I went with my YETI although the price was more than I intended. I AM SO HAPPY I DID! This thing is nearly perfect:Sturdy as heck.14oz rather than 12 because of it width. The lid is secure but not too hard to put on.The handle is big enough for my larger lady hands. The lid slopes down towards the opening so extra liquid runs back in at the end of your sip.The visual design is gorgeous and flawless.Dishwasher safe!5 year warranty but I know this thing will outlast me!Beverage stays warm for HOURS so I can ditch my desktop coffee warmer. My only teeny complaints are you have to be careful as you tip to drink as more will rush out than desired if you tip too quickly or far. I did burn my upper lip a bit before getting my technique down but that's on me. And it's a little heavy but overall I LOVE THIS THING! It is not spillPROOF but I am now safe from scalding sloshes. YAY YETI!

Not worth the money
What a shame, was looking forward to receiving the thermos mug. It's sturdy feel, great matt colour, looks nice but pretty small capacity and has a drinking hole in lid that doesn't close. What is the point of that? heated liquid lasts around 1-2hrs, it doesn't stay hot long because of the open hole.. It's really is not worth £27 pounds. Waste of money, big time. Better to buy a Beast for better price and bigger fluid ounces. Really, save your cash.

Messy!
Needed something to keep the tea my wife brings me in the mornings hot. She gets up really early, and if I’m lucky I can sleep a bit later. This mug keeps drink warm-hot for up to an hour and a half with the top that comes with it on. Trouble is, I find it hard to drink out of without dribbling tea everywhere. The top fits very tightly and if you try and get it off while the mug is full, it’s contents will go everywhere - so you’re forced into trying to drink out of a little slot in the lid - which, as I said, is far from elegant. Still, it fulfils the main aim of not having to get up to make my own tea!

Excellent heat retention but heavy
Bought this as a birthday present for my hiking buddy but never gave it to him - it's so heavy. Weighing in at 428g it's too heavy for multi-day hikes. That said it's an excellent mug, I use it at work as we are not allowed open-topped mugs in the factory. when filled with a hot brew and the lid on it's too hot to drink over an hour later (inside at just below room temperature). Really sturdy construction.
