Great for any lightweight IFAK.
The SWAT-Tourniquet is great. I trained with these in a local Stop The Bleed class (google it and find one near you).1. I say they are a good secondary tourniquet because they are not super quick or easy to use on yourself (speaking primarily of arm application. Legs are easier.). However, they do work well if you’re applying them to others because it’s easier to stretch and wrap them tighter.2. If you have a wound that needs pressure held after packing and you have other wounds to treat, this works great as a pressure bandage. Takes up less space in an IFAK than an Israeli style bandage and can hold as much pressure on a packed wound.I carry one of these in my EDC IFAK. I carry an ankle cuff kit from North American Rescue with a CAT Tourniquet (my primary go-to especially for myself), wound packing gauze with a hemostatic agent, 2 Hyfin vented chest seals, and a SWAT-T. I feel that the SWAT-T rounds out a lightweight IFAK because it can be used for multiple things.

good packaging
I will keep handy for using as tourniquet, pressure bandage or making a splint. Very versatile.

Bought these then found out they are not top rated
Bought these hoping for a good emergency tourniquet. Then I read the military study and comparison showing these do not stop blood flow, but do make a good compression bandage. So that is what I am keeping them for and ordered a SOF-T Gen 4.

Simple, effective
Easier to apply than windlass tourniquets and causes less localized tissue damage. Also can be used as a pressure dressing. Some say it’s harder to self-apply but I think they’re trying to get the first wrap tight which is unnecessary if subsequent wraps are tight. They pack easy and can be made from a bike tube if needed

A must have
My win broke his shoulder on a riding trip. These are in every bag I have and carry. It came in VERY handy that day as a splint so we could get him back down the trail to the truck. A must have imo if your outdoors and a shooter
