Will allow you to retain the rear seat controls, and the audio for the factory DVD player. I set the chime to volume 3 and it sounds good. My system has factory Bose amp, and for some reason in my mind when I was connecting all the wires I did not connect the amp lead wire out of the head unit. I assumed that since it was a factory install it wouldn't require that connection. When I connected this I had all functions, but no audio. One quick call to PAC fixed me up. They knew exactly what I had done, and was about a 1 minute conversation with the tech guy. Would definitely purchase this again.
