Could someone measure the diameter, across the top and bottom of the 1cup size bowls?

outside edge to outside edge on top is 3-3/4" and bottom is close to 3-1/2".

How many ounces is each?

These are the smallest they make. they weigh about 6.3 ounce and hold 1 cup

Why does it say 12 piece when you only get 6?

There are 6 lids and 6 dishes. That makes 12 pieces.

They are safe as glass can be. I am currently replacing all my plastic containers with glass ones. I wouldn't put the lid in the microwave.
