Beat IT! All Natural Deet-Free Insect Repellent (Bulk 1 Gallon)

A great replacement for the Deet-based repellent we used to bathe in when us infantry guys lived in the jungle. My kids complain about the smell, but they almost never get exposed to the Deet stuff, and any opportunity to not contract Lyme's disease is just as good as not getting in a car crash OR cancer. When my kids were getting spider bites at night, I successfully prevented it by spraying down the sheets and bed.

I've tried every bug repellent I can find and nothing worked as it claimed. A friend recommended this to me and told me she even uses it on her horses to keep bugs away from them. So I figured it was worth a shot. I was out along side of the house one afternoon and was getting eaten alive bye mosquitos and no-see-ums. I went back in the house gave a few squirts of this stuff and went back out to finish my project. Immediately they swarmed again, I watched them start to land on my legs and arms and just as quickly take off without a nibble! I continued working until dusk without a single bite. We've been using this now for the last 3-4 years and never had any complaints with the protection. It has a pleasant smell, and being natural oils leave your skin feeling great too. Anytime we are outside and bugs are around (in Florida that's pretty often) we use Beat-it, and don't have to worry about bugs.

This might work in Florida, but definitely doesn't work in Maine. I just wasted $13 on an 8 oz. can because this doesn't even work for one minute when I'm outside in my garden with the mosquitoes and black flies. I was swarmed and bitten by both as soon as I sprayed it on. I purposely sprayed it while outside where I was working in hopes of creating a cloud around myself to give me a couple of extra minutes of insect free work time, but the bugs never left!
